You might try opening up the guitar and checking inside -- there may just be a bit of debris in the strummer. The instructions for installing our Strum Fix board show you how to open up the guitar -- you can find them here (http://www.bytearts.com/strummer/index.html#install).

Do you know what "generation" your guitar is? If it's a "gen 1", then it's likely that your down strum switch is broken. Otherwise, it's probably a bad connection somewhere -- I've seen some pretty shoddy solder joints on some of these guitars.
