I was thinking about how few songs in Rock Band are going to be easily sung be females, like me. I was hoping ot be singing (among other things) but none of the songs are really suited for females.

I was thinking some Heart perhaps, Lacuna Coil, and Evanessance (Though I don't really like this band, it would be something for the girls)

Anyone agree? Disagree?

Heart, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Donnas.

Maybe Nightwish, but since you can sing in any octave, I'm not sure Tarja's voice would translate into RB too well.

I was sorta thinkin the same thing when I was looking for possible songs to recommend. Like I was looking at one song in particular and I was wondering "Would they even put in songs with female vocalists?" Like just realistically speaking, the majority of people that will be playing this game will be men.

Anyway, I agree, though I'm not a woman.

Joan Jett's cover of Crimson and Clover would be fun, i would think.

We shouldn't include bands that aren't good just because they are female. This is the case for
Lacuna Coil, and Evanescence (I forget the spelling). Bands like Heart, Jefferson Airplane, Blondie, and Pat Benatar (Not a big fan of Pat Benatar but those other bands I enjoy atleast to some degree).

I would have to agree with seeing something from Lacuna Coil, as long as it's from Comalies or Unleashed Memories (nothing from Karmacode - GH3 already used the only decent song from the entire album).

And more Garbage...

And perhaps even some Switchblade Symphony in there or other nice darkwave goth stuff (hey, you give your character the goth look, need some music to go with it!)

Wouldn't hurt my feelings to have some Lita Ford and/or Warlock on there either.

A lot of females in my area play guitar hero. The vocals gamers around here are mostly female. I think folks are underestimating the number of women who would play this given a 'proper' setlist. Perhaps there will be a a dlc released to test the waters.

well lets take a look at the posters. How many women? This will be a male dominated game (like most). That's not to say ladies won't play, it's just they're in a minority.

I'd be mighty annoyed if they put a song in there with a vocal range so high I can't hit the notes and miss out on my achievement!*

I think the female vocalist issue has kind of been addressed, but you'll notice the singers chosen are in the alto range, meaning most men will be able to hit the notes as well. Saying that, I love Chrissie Hynde and would strain my vocal chords to sing along to Brass in Pocket as I always do when it comes on the ol' ipod.

*Yes, I know. Achievements aren't important, etc. It's just our clan (hate that word) has lots of 30+ old geezers itching to play this and competition will be fierce to get those cheevs!

Here's a novel idea....how about some Journey....yea sure, the lead singer Steven Perry is a dude, but he has the voice of a chick.

I think I heard the "Submit Reply" button puke a little bit!!!. :)
