Hey guys just read the official song list and at the bottom it says "12 more songs to be announced". Does everyone think these will be from unknown bands like in GH just to beef it up a bit or have Harmonix got an ace up their sleeve! :) :)

Where did you read that?
Anyway, the main setlist if announced, but there are still some Bonus Songs left we don't know about. I hope those contain some big names too.

Those 12 songs are the rest of the bonus list.
While it will definitely have Harmonix bands (Acrobrats, Anarchy Club, Bang Camaro, Freezepop, Honest Bob, and Vagiant are confirmed), there might be some slightly more mainstream bands (i.e. Flyleaf)

In a way i hope they don't announce all of them and leave a couple as a surprise. I mean how cool would it be if you were playing and then suddenly you went straight into Welcome to the Jungle for example.

The 45 song setlist has been announced. Unless there is some random late change to add more than 45 songs, these remaining 12 are the bonus songs. Don't expect anything you've heard of being included.

Hey i can still dream, i think games need to start being less predictable and have a few shocks in there. To me this would raise its selling point. Instead of announcing everything a month before lets have a few OMG moments. Not that i'm saying that i'm not looking forward to ROCK BAND. In fact just pre-ordered a US version off Ebay because theres no way i can wait till next year!

unless im reading the list wrong: http://www.rockband.com/game_info/songlist
the 12 songs to be announced are bonus unlockables. notice how it's listed under bang camaro...and no other bonus tracks already widely discussed here are on that list. and it was already stated that there would be 45 songs and 13 bonus.

Yes I resurrected this thread just to emphasize the confirmation of Vagiant. I'm not obsessed I'm just...passionate.

They're the bonus tracks. Mostly the Harmonix bands from GH which also were bonus tracks.
So if awesome indie is your idea of legendary then you'd be right.

I heard MSI was gonna be in one of these games(some kind of myspace post from them or something like that), Since they're not in GH3 I'll cross my fingers for RB bonus.
MSI really would have livened up the bonus tracks in GH3:(

Okay smart ass I did a Google search. :p
I haven't heard anything about Mindless Self Indulgence being in the game though. There's always DLC.

I'm crossing my fingers for some Dethklok or Limozeen... yes, they've been "done" before but I like the idea of these weird subcultural things finding their way into a mainstream game.
Part of me is also harboring some mad glee at the idea of JoCo's "Still Alive" in there...

NOt to just randomly post to suck up, but Im sure Im not alone in actually becoming a FAN of the bonus bands from GH1 and 2, right?
And I mean, "big" bands all depend on your perspective, correct? Therefore, I can honestly say I would be SO suprised and SO excited to find a track from The Slip, or Drist buried in there. Honestly, at this point, new music to play along to from Bang Camaro and Honest Bob get me JUST as excited as Foo Fighters and Faith No More. Good music is good music, and I love how the GREAT bonus bands from GH2 are making the trek over to RB.

I'd agree with you on that one. I did a little fist-pump-yeah over a new Bang Camaro track in Rock Band, for instance, and it's just not a Harmonix game without a tasty lump of Freezepop awesomeness.
Given the Brothers Chapman have established some 'legacy' by having Trogdor in GH2 and Because Its Midnite in GH80, I'm hoping the trend continues. Maybe a new Taranchula track..?
The indies / HMX bands / unlockables / etc. are a large part of the fun... and one of the reasons GH3's unlockables made me go kinda "...eh." Maybe they got some 'name bands' for theirs, but it's just not the same as getting encores by these guys.

I'd love to get another song from That Handsome Devil - Elephant Bones was easily my favorite of the bonus tracks. i really should get that album...

Yeah I've come to place some of those bands beside or above many "legendary" bands (Vagiant anyone?). Either because they're unique and smart (Freezepop), creative (Bang Camaro, Count Zero, Made in Mexico) or just plain badass (The Amazing Royal Crowns, The Neighborhoods, Graveyard BBQ, Vagiant!).
The bonus setlist is, in my opinion, greater than the career setlist.

Honest Bob and Acrobrats?
Also, The Slip were just too awesome. I love playing mellow songs, and I think it would work even better for Rock Band than it did for Guitar Hero. My biggest disappointment in GH2 was realizing that they and Shaimus didn't come back.
(But Bang Camaro's debut and Laughtrack being EVEN BETTER than Callout made up for it)

Well Shaimus only had one good guitar song.
That Handsome Devil was great. What band is Sean in?

Yeah. Rock Band is the prefect chance for them to return. Too bad they already declined.
