so i've been listening to the RB2 tracks alot at work lately, and i am so bloody scared of Panic Attack, and Painkiller, but at the same time i cannot wait to attempt those songs and fail oh so miserably.

what are the songs that you are dying to play, but afraid of how many times they will kick your ass, and frustrate the hell out of you?

Panic Attack
Painkiller.

The songs that are most likely going to be a bear are not ones I'm anticipating at all. They're ones I'll probably feel like I have to endure. They may be the ones that keep me from finishing guitar and drums on hard like Flirtin and GG&HT have done to me on RB1.

If "Aces High" somehow makes it into the game, you'll have even more reason to be afraid.

Chop Suey looks incredibly difficult on guitar. And I'm certain I won't be able to sing it as well as I want to...

I'm sure Everlong will embarrass me on drums.

Panic Attack sounds like a blast; hard or not.

I'd hate to fail out on Master Exploder's guitar, or even the singing for whatever reason. (I can't wait to try this one!)

QFT, and thats one of my favorite iron maiden songs at the same time, but if they get iron maiden i was more hoping for afraid to shoot strangers or hallowed be thy name, but id be happy with any maiden song, since i haven't run across one i didn't like.

I just look forward to attempting to nail the first note on "Master Exploder" vocals. That is going to be interesting.

Same here. "Hallowed Be Thy Name" would be ridiculous on guitar, but the rest of the instruments would probably be pretty boring, especially vocals (although I and a lot of other people would love to sing it). "Aces High" on the other hand, has an extremely varied guitar part, vocals that are everywhere, a repetitive but difficult drum part (although "Where Eagles Dare" would be tougher), and Steve Harris on bass, which is almost always hard.

An awesome Maiden pack would be "Aces High", "Where Eagles Dare", and "To Tame a Land". They would all be tier 9 for at least one instrument. I was just trying to sing "To Tame a Land", but the bridge is nearly impossible. Bruce hits those high notes amazingly. The bass becomes ridiculous after that, and Dave and Adrian have amazing solos. "Where Eagles Dare" would be amazing on drums, too. If it were to make it in, though, no one would be allowed to use a double bass pedal. It takes away from Nicko's ridiculous feet.

I'd rather see Clive stuff than Nicko stuff. Don't get me wrong, Nicko is a drum god, but I love Clive's style so much more. Not to mention he had just as fast a foot as Nicko (which is not very well known since he didn't get to show his foot speed off very much). Just listen to "Genghis Khan". Best drum part in an instrumental ever. Clive was a maniac with Maiden. He was too fast for his own good; wore himself out in '82 and was never that fast again. Of course, that may have had something to do with his multiple sclerosis.

For the list:
"Battery" (bass part will kick ass)
"Master Exploder" (MY VOICE IS ****IN'... POWERFUUUUUULLLLLLLLL!)
"Let There Be Rock" (crazy guitar jams in between vocal phrases)
"Peace Sells" (I will be playing this bass part naked. And there is nothing you can do to stop me)
And the other usuals, "Panic Attack", "Painkiller", etc.

Master Exploder is probably going to be pretty tough on guitar and vox.

Bodhisattva has the potential to be really tricky on guitar as well.

allmusic.com fails. Clive Burr was with Iron Maiden from 1979-1982. He was the drummer on Iron Maiden, Killers, and The Number of the Beast. Doug Sampson quit in '79 because he didn't like the touring lifestyle.

I like Nicko a bit better. Clive has a few insane songs, like "Gangland", "Ghengis Khan", and "Killers". A lot of his beats are very similar, though. Just listen to "Run to the Hills" and "Children of the Damned". I absolutely love both, but I think Nicko wins based on longevity and he also acts crazy at times.. Clive seems a bit more tame.

I'm terrified of "Chop Suey", because for the first time, I'm going to have to play Rock Band with the sound off. Holy god, do I hate that song.

Back to the spirit of the thread though, "Painkiller" is going to huuuurt. Which makes the title all the more amusing ironic.

Yeah.....

"Painkiller"
"Panic Attack"
"Everlong"

All very hard on drums. Should be fun! I think "Panic Attack" will be the new "Won't Get Fooled Again". And "Everlong" will be the new "Run to the Hills". All though "Everlong" has the potential to be a bit easier than "Run to the Hills".

To Tame A Land, please :)

but on subject, songs I'm dreading most on each instrument

vocals-Painkiller, Chop Suey, peace sells (if charted)
guitar/bass-battery, panic attack, painkiller, bodhisattva, peace sells
drums- visions, battery, panic attack, painkiller, almost easy (probably won't be bad but having seen rev's arms on the making of the album....wow)

there are probably more that didn't immediately come to mind.

Dude, what? You can't be serious. I could understand the Thrash pack as an example, but the metal songs have just the right amount of challenge to them and are the most fun when you do play them on expert. Well of coarse these are both our opinions. Plus most know me as a metal head and I see you more as the country dude. Regardless, nothing personal.;)

Well both drummers were/are awesome, just different styles like you mentioned. I personally like Nicko's style a bit more because he's definitely a more technical style drummer that still plays with power behind it. Clive was a very solid drummer that had both the speed and power. He helped make the first 3 Iron Maiden albums unforgetable and bad ass. So I'm glad that both drummers have been a part of Maiden, which we all know is one of the best bands of all time.

Visions
Battery
Panic Attack
Painkiller

Agreed big time. Bring it on!!:D

Let's hope that we can disable songs, or it will give us a difficulty band or theme or something.

Or Harmonix could put something like this in Rock Band 3. I'd like to have a "reject" button during Mystery Setlists that you could press before a song loads. Rationalize it as your band saying "sorry, we don't know that one" or "not tonight, too tired" to a specific request. If you use this button, the game loads a different song, but it would bum the audience out. Maybe you could only use it once per setlist, or it would make the replacement song harder (slower energy gain/quicker loss), or you'd earn fewer fans from that setlist (not cause you to lose fans, but simply gain fewer).

For different reasons, "De-Luxe". I fear the charting is going to be "Seven" with 'gazer vocals. I also wonder what some of the chordings and drum sections are going to look like in "Teenage Riot".

I'm not afraid to play any songs. If a song is hard, it just makes my want to play it more.

An exception is Mosh 1 of Raining Blood. The first time I played that part, I swear I heard "I am going to rape you" coming out of the TV.

The easy way to implement that for BWT (with "challenges") would be to always offer two or more different setlists to pick from.

I don't know, I don't like metal much either. I have 90% of the DLC, but not Metallica and only 2 Judas Priest songs, no thrash.
