View Full Version : This game has opened my eyes...AND CHANGED ME!!

First off i dont want this to start a flame fest on rap music.

From the time i was in high school (I'm 31 now) i listened to almost exclusively rap music. I refused to accept other forms of music. Especially rock. (No wait ESPECIALLY COUNTRY....NEVER I JUST CANT)

Me nephew brought rock band over and i was hooked. I thought just for how fun it was, but something was happening. I started opening my eyes to how good this music is. It's like a new discovery now. Every song is new to me even old groups like Boston are new to me.

Recently i've begun to look up some of the songs of the bands in Rockband for other tracks they have. One of my biggest surprises is exactly how powerful some of these songs are. They can motivate you to work out (Dream Theater Panic Attack is doing that for me). They can make you angry or sad (serj tankian - baby) Or just want to go nuts..lol (system of a down -Chop suey). What i am trying to say is that i am getting something from music that i haven't gotten in a long time and that is EMOTION!!

Now i know these songs are old to almost all of you but i have just gotten on this bandwagon so im learning what i like. All i know is i have hardly even listened to rap in months (not because i dont like it but because the new stuff is garbage and largely lacking emotion, meaning, depth and lyricism).

This game has had a huge impact on me and my tastes. I have invested in a few albums because of this game and because of my willingness to open my mind and ears. Any suggestions on bands that are not in this game would greatly be appreciated.

I am a changed man and i am in love with music again!!!!

Just a few suggestions...and there are a ton of bands out there....

ZZ Top
Queen
Nickleback
Maroon 5
Styx
Whitesnake
Heart
Megadeth

just to name a few.
Each one of those has their own unique sound. Hopefully you could find something in those you would like.

Great story.

I would suggest checking out U2. Start with The Joshua Tree, then once you've digested its greatness, go back to their first album (Boy) and work your way through their career chronologically. The real gems, to me, are The Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum, Achtung Baby, All You Can't Leave Behind and How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

I listened to hair band rock throughout my teens, but when I got to the end of my teens I "discovered" U2 and it changed my outlook on music, opening my eyes to what could be achieved.

i disagree i think there is some emotion but i think when there is emotion it is for the most part negative and angry. Not too many great tracks about love or hapiness. What happens when you do make a track like that ie. Will Smith or P -Diddy or Kanye west..... You are immediately labeled as SOFT and you lose street cred.

I will still listen to rap(older rap ie...Wu-Tang....when they were great) a sa means of motivation for workouts...(i lift better when im angry :)

Wow, great story. I didn't realize that the fun of the game could turn someone on to rock music. I figured most people playing it were already rock music fans. I guess I was wrong!

I will say Rock Band has helped turn me and the people around me on to different genres of rock. For instance, boyfriend always liked southern rock and artists like Jimmy Buffett. I never listened to that. I've always liked some metal and prog rock than he never listened to. Now we each listen to those respective genres I mentioned, plus more.

I'll also say it has helped me gain appreciation for classic rock. I always leaned toward my stepdad's rock genre preferences as a kid, so when my mom would play Boston, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, and other groups like that, I'd ignore those. But they're great too. I've also discovered classic rock neither my mom nor my stepdad listened to, like The Who. Before that, I mostly listened to 90's and early 2000's era music.

I also now listen to more indie and less mainstream stuff thanks to Rock Band.

That's a large reason why I like Rock Band, other than the fun. It helps me discover new music.

That's really amazing to hear. This is the main reason why I try to stay up-to-date with DLC. Even if I don't necessarily like a song, it broadens my musical tastes and give me some insight into other types of music.

Very glad to see you're expanding your music selections.

I'll be honest, I don't listen to music much when I'm working or recreating because I find it hard to concentrate when I have my brain active with something. It's a little ADD. I only listen to music when I'm driving in my car. For some reason though I was drawn to guitar hero first and then rock band for the drum feature because I can enjoy the music more, it's more immersive. I'm not thinking about anything else when I am playing the game and I can feel the music's patterns and texture. So this game has opened my eyes too.

That is awesome. I am almost the same story. I'm almost 19 now though, that is the only difference. I played basketball all throughout junior high and high school and (not to sound racist or anything cuz im not) all I was used to listening to was rap because that is what was always around me cuz that's what my teammates listened to.

Then one of my buddies introduced me to Guitar Hero 2 and I was hooked. It completely opened my eyes to different types of music. I mean my dad tried to get me into groups he liked (Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns N Roses, etc.) but I was never really interested. But ever since GH2 I have loved rock and, like you, am learning about all types of different bands and genres.

Also like you, I don't find myself listening to rap much anymore. I don't know if I grew out of it or I just don't like any of the new stuff. It all sounds whiny and repititve to me. I'll occasionally listen to some of the stuff I didn't delete off my ipod from high school but now its mostly different kinds of rock I like.

Sorry for the long post basically restating the OP's story. I just thought it was really kool because we share pretty much identical backgrounds in music (of course just about 12 years of age difference :D)

Screw rap for workouts. . . You need to listen to Irish Punk music. Best workout music ever. Take one part fiddle, one part jig and add some crazy guitar and drums. . . possibly even a mandolin, banjo and bagpipes and you have the world's best workout tunes.

Here's a great workout set. . .

Salty Dog - Flogging Molly
Black Friday Rule - Flogging Molly
Seven Deadly Sins - Flogging Molly

Dirty Glass - Dropkick Murphy's
Barroom Hero - Dropkick Murphy's

I like several Nickelback songs. They're just one of those bands that people love to hate. FWIW, I also love all Creed and several Bush songs. And people seem to hate those bands worse than Nickelback!

I have heard some of the beatles more popular songs but have never really listened to it. I will take a look. And i downloaded the who for Rockband and love them!! What a difference a great vocalist makes..... Forgive me for not knowing the names but Bostons vocalist Geddy Lee, The Who's vocalist and Serj Tankian...is that the vocalists name or the band?

The vocalist can definitely add to the emotion of a song. I love this music and guitarists bassists and drummers i feel the emotion to. The guitar solo is like singing with your fingers lol!!!

Maybe that is why rap is so big . . . because you do not have to deal with th emotional aspect of music . . . hmm

I had a similar theory a while back, about certain kinds of music and the people who gravitate toward them.

From what I've been exposed to, most rap and country music is about TANGIBLE things. I saw this girl, got into this fight. I bought this truck, my dog's brown, whatever.

Most rock music, at least the bands I've grown to appreciate, is lyrically more exploratory. They talk about ideas and they evoke emotions and... other stuff. My vocabulary is failing me now, but I'm clicking Submit anyway to get this idea out there.

yes i agree completely the vocalist makes a huge difference, its their job to reel you in with their vocals, if they suck then most likely its hard to listen to them.

Im not sure if i understand, what your saying about Serj Tankian thats the vocalist name, but thats also the name of his solo album. But, seriously lately I have gotten all my friends to listen to frusciante and they all thanked me for it, so if you get a chance listen to the songs i suggested and tell me what you think. Thanks.

As since RB popped your rock block, let me see if I can't make a suggestion about the country:

Do yourself a favor and track down an album by Uncle Tupelo called "No Depression". It's this great mix of not-at-all-pop country music with a good deal of punk thrown into the mix and a drummer that can stop on a dime and spit out pennies. It works well. And between them and the Old 97s, they kicked off this wave of better-than-Garth-Brooks country that still makes me smile.

Eventually, the band would split and become Wilco.

It's good, go get it, kthxbai.

awesome. I'm not trying to hate on rap, but I can't listen to it, because I can't hear anything that sticks out for me musically. Rap has very little emotion, like you said, and to me, it all sounds very similar. Even though I don't like it, older rap is the best out of all of it IMO.

Rock music has a lot of emotion, and makes me feel something.

Just my opinion. You just check out some 90s bands, like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Smashing Pumpkins.

and Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, there are so many good bands you need to check out.

GH/RB has made me a music addict as well.

What's even worse than Rock Band itself is wandering into the lesser trafficked boards on these forums. Try going into Album Reviews, History of Rock, or Ultimate Setlist.

People here know and love their rock of all kinds. Every time I start browsing one of those boards, I usually end up with a two dozen long list of bands I need to listen to by the time I'm done. I highly reccomend popping into those boards now and then if you are looking to fuel your addiction.

Right on Troopa, glad to hear how the game has changed your outlook. People should at least be open to the idea of listening to new types of music, bands, whatever.

I grew up listening to almost nothing but rap. My dad would try to get me into his favorites (classic rock: Pink Floyd, Lynard Skynard, Allman Brothers) and my sister was a total metal head (Iron Maiden, Metallica, Ozzy) I wasn't having any of it. All I listened to was rap. Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang, Bone, Nas........all of it. Then something changed. I don't know if I just grew up, or the music changed, I don't know. I started listening to Sublime after my friend played them in his car. I liked the beats, like the lyrics. That same friend also got me into RHCP. To this day, those are 2 of my favorite bands (RIP Bradley :( )

My point is, I'm much more into different kinds of music now. I've got favorites from the past (Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd), the present (U2, RHCP, Tool, Foo Fighters) and even other genres. My g/f listens to 95 % country music and I've even grown to like some of the songs she listens to.

By the way, I still listen to rap, but honestly most of the rap songs on my I-pod are from the 90's. Today's rap just doesn't feel the way it felt to me 10- 15 years ago.

You should really consider getting more from Radiohead if you like music with emotion. You have already listened to Creep on the game, and possibly My Iron Lung

There is a thread that we exactly talked about which album is the best to start listening Radiohead. It's art rock/alternative rock so you have to get use to the sound, but it's amazing. Here:

I enjoy both rock and rap, around equally. My favorite rap songs are of the west coast variety (according to Pandora, known for its use of funk riffs) and date to the nineties: mostly stuff by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. I also like some older stuff like Grandmaster Flash.

I wouldn't say rap lacks emotion, but it is very literal and not very metaphorical compared to rock. While on the surface gangsta rap sounds negative and depressing, I see a wry almost playful tone. I mean, it's hard to take seriously a song about fighting police officers when it's so over-the-top and all the lines rhyme. I think the genre as a whole is itself a satire of the gangsta life, making light of lower class minority problems.

Also despite whatever is going on in his personal life, Eminem is a master of rhyme and meter. There's no living vocalist who can put together such technically amazing songs. And often times they're funny too. =)

That's a good story. Being a lover of rock and rap (among other genres, but STILL not country either ;) ) I'm glad to see that there is somebody else out there who listens and loves multiple genres and isn't just boxed into one style of music.

That's why I think that everybody needs to broaden their horizons with music. Rock Band is great because it allows different generations to listen to different music. And although I absolutely HATE those little kids who run around here and make fun of rap and claim they only listen to rock (when infact they only started listening to it when Rock Band came out), I do think that everybody has discovered new music/bands through this game.

And as far as emotion goes - there's TONS of genres including rock that have emotion (soul, hip hop, jazz, etc). I will admit, modern rap has a simple purpose - entertainment. The rap you hear on the radio is excellent for one thing - clubbing and drinking (not that I'm complaining since I'm still young )

But people just have to be as open minded as NYTROOPA and give new music a try.

I will agree with this. I love eminem, but most MAINSTREAM rap lacks emotion it's all just so repetitive and meaningless, I'm not saying it's not music, it's just not my kind of music. even without meaning, you can still deliver a great song if you have some emotion. No band makes me thrash around my room (definitely a sight to see lol) like SOAD, and half the time they're singing about nothing (Kill Rock N Roll is about a rabbit that Daron Malakian ran over once) but Serj just puts this amazing degree of passion into whatever he sings and that's what makes them awesome.

SOAD has a lot of political songs, though. "Soldier Side", "Sad Statue", "B.Y.O.B.", "Hypnotize", and, I believe, "Toxicity" are political. System of a Down is awesome, though. I've loved them since Toxicity came out when I was 7 years old.

I have been listening to alot of these suggestions and I just cant believe what i have been missing out on all these years. Some of these tracks are just awesome...

I have ALOT of catching up to do...

Definitely check Iron Maiden out. "Hallowed Be Thy Name" leaves a lasting effect the first time you listen to it. Also, if you EVER get the chance to see them live, take it. I was only a moderate fan until March of this year, and then I saw them live and was absolutely blown away. It sent me on a quest to buy all of their albums.

This OP could have been written by me lol. But it wasn't RB that turned me around, it was Cake (the band, not the food...). My friend played their Fashion Nugget album for me one night and I was an automatic fan. I started appreciating real music, not rap.

Don't get me wrong, I was a rap fan, and I do appreciate some of it, especially the deeper stuff like old Nas, etc. But once I listened to Cake I was blown away by how much musical talent they had, and then I started listening to other bands (Allman Brothers, James Gang, RHCP, Lynerd Skynerd) and realized how shallow 98% of rap music is.

I saw Cake live and that was it lol. It was such an amazing experience because it was a small venue (300ppl maybe?) and I was about 10 feet away from the stage.

This led me to start playing RL drums, and I was hooked. Nothing is more fun than sitting behind a kit and grooving. The friend who introduced me to Cake is an awesome bass player so we have some really fun jam sessions (it's all about the rhythm section :P).

I actually started playing RB because I was already playing RL drums. It's really the most fun I've had in a game in a long time, maybe ever. It's so fun to get into the zone on a song like Gimme Shelter or Reptilia and just jam out online. Rock Band allows me to work on my drumming technique (somewhat..mainly grip and limb independence) and also have a good time playing the drums when I can't play a real kit.

So, I'd say it was a combination of Rock Band, my good buddy John (the bass player), and Cake that inspired my musical...breakthrough I guess you'd call it.

Here:
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41405&highlight=radiohead

You should probably start with either The bends or Ok computer :D

Start him out right: OK Computer, that's where I started after being recommended by a fan.

Also, check out Jimi Hendrix.

TC you just wrote my life story. I'm only 15 but i've had it almost the same way.

To make a long story short i'll make a timeline of my ages

0-5 Discovering Music. First rap song heard Gangsta's Paradise. I remember Don't Speak on T.V lol

6-8 Loved Rock N Roll, but didn't know any names besides Guns N Roses and Aerosmith. Disliked, but newly realized rap.

9-11 Rap grew on me. Eminem and Dr. Dre days GOLDEN. Still didn't forget classic rock

12-14 Solely listened to rap. Didn't like newer rock coming out. So i started to hate rock

14 Played GH3 at a friend's house. Bought Rock Band. Remarried rock. Still listened to rap.

15 C.R.A.P.P starts coming out (Constantly Repetitive Assclown Produced Poo) In other words, soulja boy and friends. Now i haven't listened to Rap in a long time. I will be going to its funeral though. Maybe
Dr. Dre's Detox can save it

EDIT: Oh and sorry but i've always hated country and i still hate it

Now i haven't listened to Rap in a long time. I will be going to its funeral though.

Well I wouldn't go that far, Lil Wayne did 1.8 million in two weeks. But I will say that Souljah Boy and the strictly club music is in a bad spot. Then again, bad music will do bad numbers - despite the genre.

I was the same way, listening to mostly rab, r&b, and old soul music before buying rock band. I probably now have as many rock songs on my mp3 player as rap songs. And I was a rap music producer already, but now I can actually play drums (for which rock band was my first stepping stone), and am learning guitar and piano now as well. Of all the songs on the disc and DLC, I'd probably only heard 5% before playing them on the game. And I love about 95% of them.

That says a great deal about HMX's taste when it comes to music.

Rap and rock are fundamentally different for the most part, not in what the songs are about, but in the way you get that message across. In my opinion, rock seems to be far more concerned with the music and the song as a whole than the lyrics or meaning, although that's not the case with all rock songs. And rap, because of it's conversational delivery and nature, is much more about the message and the lyrics, at the expense of the song itself, at times. That's excluding party songs on both rock and rap, which don't need to have any meaning at all. Playing this game with friends from both rock and rap backgrounds has opened EVERYONE up to more music.

Oh yeah, and this game introduced me to what would become one of my top 3 favorite songs of all time, Simple Man. (although I do prefer the Shinedown version!)

I just wish people would recognize how good classic rock is and learn from it. Musicians today don't seem to apply the teachings of these old rockers. They had to learn from old blues and jazz guys and look what they created, masterpieces. A lot of music today is repetitive crap that is highly overrated. Just because a song has a good beat doesn't mean its good. The stupid crap they are singing about is terrible as well.

[Edit]: Also, just because you can play an instrument fast doesn't mean it sounds good.

I am a changed man and i am in love with music again!!!!

similar situation with me, i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you are african american just like myself so this is more of an everyday occurence for all of us that play video games. for me it was my brother who got the game and ever since this game i can hardly listen to rap anymore, need music with emotion!

i agree with the no nickelback policy, or any radio rock whatsoever, it's so bland and repetitive, nothing special about it at all

if you're new to rock check out

radiohead
weezer
foo fighters
nirvana
muse
modest mouse
the pixies
smashing pumpkins
the smiths
at the drive-in
fugazi
ben folds five
bloc party
cake
brand new
death cab for cutie

LOL half the bands you posted are "radio bands" and either constantly get played out or have been played out on my local rock radio station. all the highlighted bands have had big radio hits... granted they arent your typical "radio" band (i.e. nickelback, creed, daughtry, three days grace, etc)
but they arent exactly unheard of either... its kind of a who's who of modern rock bands. everybody has heard of everything on there.

Glad you liked it. Virtually all of his songs have a message (he's a pretty political guy), check out the rest of his stuff.

I really can't stress enough how much I recommend his "Avalanche" album. It's the kind of album you want to listen to really loud or with headphones on. Front to back it's incredible.

Saw him play live a couple of times too, amazing.

The moral of this story is to try new things. Somethings might catch, others might not. A long time ago I stopped deciding what artists, styles, and genres I liked. I listen to everything. If I like it, I like it. From country to classical, from rap to pop, from hair metal to even boy bands and Britney. Sometimes I like a song for lyrics, others for beats, and still others just because it's fun for whatever reason (usually boy band, kiddie pop, and critically bad music).

You got off lucky. RB got me fired up enough to *gulp* buy a guitar.

People have no doubt already pointed out some great bands that have never been (will ever be?) in Rock Band or Guitar Hero: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, etc.

Let me point out some others that probably will never appear in RockBand.

Dick Dale and His Deltones - surf rock baby! Check out "Misirlou" and "Let's Go Trippin'" for some iconic songs. "Misirlou" plays during the opening credits for the movie "Pulp Fiction."

The Chantays - "Pipeline" - more surf rock classic, their only hit, alas, but very influential.

The Ventures - "Walk, Don't Run," "Telstar," "Hawaii Five-O" are some of their best-known songs.

The Lively Ones - "Surf Rider" - the song played over the ending scene in "Pulp Fiction."

(can you tell I like surf rock?)

Another album to check out is by Nick Lowe and Rockpile, which is 30 years old and just re-released this March (including a vinyl LP). The album is "Jesus of Cool" and the songs on will sound very familiar. They influenced a lot of bands from New Wave to Punk. Check out "So it Goes" and then try to count the bands that sound like that opening riff. "Cruel To Be Kind" is another well-known song of theirs.

Now let's get into the Eighties. To me, the 80's means Talking Heads and Oingo Boingo. Songs of note from the former: "Burning Down The House" "Girlfriend is Better" "Once in a Lifetime." Songs from Boingo: "Just Another Day" "Grey Matter" "Only A Lad" "Dead Man's Party" "Who Do You Want To Be Today." Ironically, Oingo Boingo's live "Farewell" double-disk album is one of the best introductions to the band. They are also the only rock band I know of to have appeared on the Gong Show (they won). One of the best introductions to Talking Heads are the movies they made: "Stop Making Sense" and "True Stories."

That's all I have for now.

^My personal favorite song by them.

Their albums Siren Song of the Counter Culture and The Sufferer and the Witness have nothing but great music.

Any System of a Down is great too.

I will definitely take these suggestions... it just so happens that my nephew has an extra ticket to a Rush concert. :D

AWESOME way to start!

Lol, I found the part that I bolded from your post to be quite ironic... Shouldn't you be concentrating on driving while driving? :p

NYTROOPA, I will make a list of bands and songs that I feel you should check out. I can't right now cuz I'm about to leave from work, but I'll look through my catalog of 6,316 songs on my iPod and try to point out the most noteworthy, along with some of my personal favorites...

NYTROOPA, try also The Offspring. But i'm glad that you enjoy rock. I like Rap as well but i've always listened to more rock than rap. with the stuff that comes out now a days in rap i can't believe that it sells and that's because kids or maybe some adults think it's cool and it sounds "tight". I personally always say rap is garbage but there are a few exceptions and you always gotta go back to the early 90s. People when they think of rock they automatically think that rock is satanic and that it makes you wanna kill yourself. Some people just don't know what music is. So welcome!

It is people like you that keep me sane.
In all honesty, I completely know how you feel. I used to be into just a certain genre of music, but really changed when I heard a lot of the music from Rock Band and it got me into playing more instruments and definitely listening to more music, and a lot more unheard of stuff as well.
But what I really think changed me the most was that with games like GH, once you see the set list, you know whether or not you will like the game depending on if you like the songs, but with Rock Band, i didn't know a lot of the bands in the game, but really loved most of them a lot.
Now with Rock Band 2, I still don't know a lot of the bands, BUT I am wayyy less worried about what the songs are because I know they will grow on me and I will like them and it will open my eyes to even more bands. That is what is so great about Harmonix, they know what will get people's toes tapping.

The same sort of story goes for me, except I never really liked rap at all. Ever. Me discovering music was when I saw the video for Dayvan Cowboy on youtube. The first time I heard the second part of the song, goose bumps shot down my arms and back and it was just amazing. For a while I only listened to music like that (I have trouble classifying it as a single genre). Boards of Canada and Four Tet were the best things I knew of.

Dayvan Cowboy (youtube quality doesn't do it justice!)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=A2zKARkpDW4

Then my brother got GH3 for christmas and I found rock. I only liked a little bit of it, and so I looked for more. RHCP became my new favorite band. I love the stuff from Muse that I have heard. I also like a lot of The Who, The Rolling Stones and some from Black Sabbath. A few months after GH3 I got Rock Band, widening my horizons again. I still love the quieter 'instrumentals' that I enjoyed originally, but I am glad that my eyes have been opened.

Pearl Jam - Ten (amazing album 100%)
Sarah Mclachlan - Fumbling toward Ecstacy (Not rock, but if you like emotion. . .)
Tori Amos - almost anything (again not rock, but powerful messages-lots of emotion but borders on the folksy at times. . seeing her live is a treat though)
Bjork - youtube some of her stuff. very OUT there but very emotive.
System of a Down - Toxicity
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory/meteora (again dont laugh some very good stuff on these albums, if not overplayed)
Depeche Mode - Violator

Because they are female? Bjork and Tori are about as far from pop as you get. Tori being more alt-Folk Rock and Bjork being so all over the board she ranges from pop to alt rock to jazz to electronica to folk.

but hey keep your music opinion narrow, it hurts no one but yourself. i for one think they are great and would welcome some of their songs (definitely many of them wouldnt fit in this game).

Try out Metallica's "Master of Puppets". Very important album. Each member is very talented, and all songs, in my opinion, are cleverly written and have meaning.

I'm happy for you discovering the greatness that is rock music. I figure I'll open up into a little bit of my story...

DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to say that one genre or band is greater than another. This was simply my experience and a little bit of my opinion.

I didn't listen to much of anything until about the sixth grade (I'm 14 now). I simply listened to what was popular in my school at the time (Green Day, Fall Out Boy, even some rap music). That all changed when I got Guitar Hero 2 for my 360 last summer. I enjoyed the game's variety of (mostly) hard rock and metal. Eventually, I started listening to the music outside the game, and it opened my eyes as well. Now, I could state my opinion about Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and most stuff that isn't rock; but I won't. Let's just say that I have more mature tastes in rock music now.

I would recommend Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and The Police. Also, continue to listen to more Boston.

Yeah, I had a similar experience, but well, it's a long looong story, for sure...

It all happened when I was wondering if I should stay or should I go to buy another game because I was in bloom all the last year, all my current games weren't enough to me, that caused me to became a little paranoid, heh, yeah, I think I'm paranoid anyway.

I was about to have a collapse outside when my mom saw me just to say "Welcome home". Urgh, I hated that moment, really, I wanted dead or alive any darn game, I wanted to get rid of that boring passage of my life, but I'm so sick to remember it, just to feel that pleasure of having fun once again, but no, I won't get fooled again, I bought too much games and just to went sad, like having a nightmare all day long, however, I can.

But if I go with the flow, I might be end with something new, something just what I needed all this time, something to feel like I'm still alive. So yeah, I went to the nearest Gamestop like a volcano to look for any game, but, didn't you feel the same? Like you've got another thing coming to your head, like a perfect drug when looking at something that might be the answer that you were looking for all this time?

It happened to me.

I bought Rock Band, cool game, but it wasn't available on Gamestop but on Target! lol, anyway, I was happy because all the small things of my life became real with a very important message: Rock on!

No matter how sick sick sick you are, having a moment to play your favorite song with your friends is priceless.

Thx Harmonix to show us another way to look at videogames. :D

I see by your post count that you are pretty new here. Necro-posting is where you bring a REALLY old post back from the dead, like this one (the last response was in July). It is usually frowned on.

i can't imagine how many pages you read through to find this one :)

anyway welcome to the forums.

Hey, are we going to fault new users for using the search function so as to not start new threads on the same topic?

I think not, right?
