Hardcore punk is by far my favorite genre of music. Anyone else also love this music? I've been thinking for a while about what songs and bands I would love in Rock Band, so I've come up with a few

Minor Threat pack:
1. Minor Threat
2. Filler
3. Bottled Violence

Misfits pack:
1. Horror Business
2. Don't Open Till Doomsday
3. Saturday Night

Bad Brains pack:
1. Banned in DC
2. Right Brigade
3. Attitude

Bad Religion pack:
1. I Want to Conquer the World
2. Generator
3. 21st Century Digital Boy

There are a few bands I'm missing. Songs from Agent Orange, Black Flag, and Adolescents would be great. I know there must be SOME kind of a market for these songs and I feel like it's a horribly under represented genre in Rock Band.

An aside, can we have some Modest Mouse DLC? They're one of my favorite bands. While I think Float On in RB2 is good, they have much better songs. Dashboard would have been a better choice IMO. Thanks for looking and the opinions you guys!

Saturday night is from the 90's silly, but hell yeah there should be sum 80's hardcore, misfits, agent orange, black flag, suicidal tendencies, dead kennedys. shoot, they should just put the whole "This is Boston, Not L.A." compilation on there. one of the greatest hardcore punk albums ever

You're on to something here.

3-Pack for the price of 1 song due to length.

Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown 2:09
Descendents - Suburban Home 1:45
Minor Threat - Straight Edge 0:46

haha i always like short songs, my add won't allow me to play or listen to anything longer than 3 minutes lol, but yeah thats an awesome idea, cheaper packs of 3 or even 4 due to length, hopefully no one sucks enough to fail 30 seconds into a song which as already practically over if its black flag or the freeze lol

I love the idea. Maybe combining multiple shorts songs into one song would work too. Just wait a few seconds after the first ends before the second begins. Kinda a punk version of Foreplay/Longtime.

I'm all for Misfits, Agent Orange, Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, and Bad Religion. I'd like to see some 7 Seconds too.

Personally my Misfit list would go:
Mommy Can I Go Out & Kill Tonight?
Last Caress
Where Eagles Dare (I doubt this one would make it, but it has a better chance then Angelf**k)

After learning to like all these other genres and styles I'd never heard of before RB, I'm open to much more. Even maybe a little Punk. So I'm looking forward to see what you guys suggest.

Erm... if anyone has a suggestion of like the top 5 songs you must hear to appreciate the feel of Punk, I'd like to hear it. Stuff I can find on YouTube, of course, or at least Last.fm.

Also, I've just started a thread on the potential for customizable menu graphics (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65656), and I hope Punk fans will head over there to add suggestions. I really don't have any clue what you guys would appreciate graphically, but I expect true fans will be able to post some good ideas about what Punk menus would look like.

I'm basically after menus that make RB2 look like it's a game devoted to that genre - like Punk Band, Country Band, Ska Band, Goth Band, whatever. I think Harmonix should allow us some basic choices and then let the fans get to work making more (assuming the graphics aren't too complex to make, of course).

Because in combination with customizable playlists, which RB2 apparently already has, customizable menu graphics can make the game seem like a whole different game. Imagine flipping a switch in the Options Menu and watching the whole feel of the game switch between Punk and, say, Ska... or among Punk, Ska, Country, Goth, R&B, Classic Rock, and, I dunno, Hippie Protest Songs. Graphics are a major element in the game, and the ability to toy with them could be one of the greatest tools given us - after, of course, the songs themselves.

i left this for someone else to do since i realize i have pretty unusual taste, but since noone else decided to bite i'll jump in and see if i can help you out a bit. just keep in mind that it's incredibly hard to sum up such a huge mass of bands into merely 5 songs... i'll look into 5 extremely different bands and supply videos along with a link to the band's wikipedia page. i'd suggest reading instead of watching a crappy youtube video, but that's totally your choice to make.

Black Flag - Rise Above

I remembered this about 5 seconds after I posted it, think I was getting confused with Dead Kennedy's. What a spaz.

Anyway BLACK FLAG PLEASE!
