well looking at the RB 2 features i know it will have many GREAT additions! but i wanna know if there will be rythm guitar in RB2 songs and future DLC or will that be too much work for HMX?? i know that not all songs have rythm but it would be great for those that do! and i also know that RB1 songs and all DLC already available might not be able to have rythm IF they do decide to add that to songs. if anyone has info on this feel free to share! :)
oh and if this was already posted i am sorry for the re-post!

There won't be rhythm, and realistically, there won't ever be mighty without having to give up the entire song database that exists.
It's unfortunate because it's a good idea.

I highly doubt it. They would've announced it by now if it was going to be added to RB2.

1. Where would you put it? The screen is already pretty full with 3 tracks + vocals
2. The X360 and Wii (maybe the PS3? I don't know) have a limit of 4 attached controllers. Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums. There's no way to attach a 5th for a rhythm guitar.
I'm sure there's other reasons, but those 2 spring to mind immediately.

Bass tour would be kinda pointless then. Lol rhythm guitar tour

Guitar Hero: World Tour has it, you just select either Lead, Bass, or Rhythm.

But you can't have bass, rhythm, and lead all at once unless you are in the Studio Mode. During gameplay you can still only use lead and then the other guy has to choose between bass and rhythm.

I never said you could. ;)

Well i dont mean to have it added as a 5th instrument to play at the same time! i meant as a choice before choosing difficulty, so ppl can choose between lead, rythm and bass guitar. if its not included RB2 would still be a great game tho it would be really fun to play rythm on songs with dual guitars! ^^ just hoping *sigh*

The only way I can see rhythm in there is (which I thought they were going to do this in the first place) if they did it like GH2. Where some songs had a bass and some songs had rhythm to accompany the lead guitar.
I know it's impossible (unless you have a big tv) to have three guitars up there with the drums but I guess they wanted to push the "full band" experience where you always have the same four instruments. Even if on some songs the bass is non-existent. Thus, leaving the rhythm guitar out forever.

The reason there isn't rhythm guitar in the game is because for the songs that do have rhythm guitar, the guitar track switches between lead and rhythm, in order to keep things interesting. Adding rhythm guitar would just make two uninteresting guitar parts instead of one good one.

(Slips and falls on face). My bad. Guess I read too much into it.:o

That's the logical way out, I suppose, but really, who doesn't want to play drums?

The truth is, I think with some rearranging you could have five player tracks on screen.

Only if you include a 42" screen TV with every purchase of RB2.

I don't know about that. You could make the same argument about playing a four person FPS on a small TV.

... Not all bands have a rythym guitarist. Rush comes to mind. (right?) Some bands don't even have guitar period, like Freezepop, and some NIN songs I THINK.
Besides, you already need TWO guitars to have a full band. One for bass and one for lead. Why the hell would you want a THIRD one. It's pretty pointless if you ask me. A little unnecessary.

If rhythm guitar was put in RB2 wouldn't there need to be 5 characters on the screen for certain songs?

Having a choice between what to play (besides difficulty) would screw up the leaderboards. (Anyone who choses rhythm over bass would have higher scores.. Not to mention being pretty much the same, except there would be chords instead of single notes)
Lead and rhythm is often combined on the guitar track. To seperate lead and rhythm entirely would, like someone else said, lead to two boring guitar tracks.
I think it's just a bunch of ex-guitar hero players complaining because either
-Bass is too boring and guitar is too hard
-Their friends/enemies always take guitar and they're stuck on bass (or they feel sorry for the bass player)
If you want more of a challenge, upstrum everything, or play slap bass style. (thumb extended, only move the wrist)
Rhythm guitar would be so similar to bass. People would complain "Why can't two people play lead? Rhythm guitar is so boring!"
(lead guitar is so boring I think they should make charts different from the song, it'd be more fun, I want five button chords and solo-style gameplay throughout the song with random notes)

It would be nice but I doubt it.

It would be cool as an option for songs that don't have bass tracks, like Freebird. Otherwise, it would be weird and hard to integrate with some of the existing tracks.
