I just got replacements, and the pads are incredibly soft, and they are the EL set. They are pretty responsive, but I was wondering if I should use the coin mod or not. I just want to know because of the annoying noise the coin mod makes, and if its worth it.

And the coin mod is what?
Your drums don't play songs? You can't hit notes correctly?

Sounds like you, sir, need practice.

I do play on Expert. Im pretty good. Its just that I want to know if the noise of the coins is worth the extra sensitivity

The coin mod is something someone thought up as a quick fix for the drums dropping notes due to lack of sensitivity. You just pop off the pad, unscrew the piece that contains the sensor, lift the sensor out of it's little area, and place a penny under it, then put everything back the way it was. This raises the sensor up, which usually gives your drum more sensitivity, allowing you to do rolls without dropping a ton of notes(due to the drum, anyway. It doesn't suddenly make you better at doing them yourself.;))

As for whether or not you need the coin mod, well, test the drums. In practice mode, try the drum roll in Train Kept A Rollin'. If it doesn't seem sensitive enough, throw the coin in and see if it helps. Easy as that. :)

P.S. If you don't want the coin to add noise to the drum set, do what I did. I just folded up some tinfoil the thickness of a penny, and voila. Same fix, sans the noise.
