does anyone know if there are going to be demo units of RB2 in BestBuy stores like there were for RB1? I really want to try out the new instruments!

my gut tells me no.

More like "Why would there be?" It's not an unknown product like the first one, plus it's such a short time frame of when it comes out.

GH3 wasn't an unknown product, and it had demo stations setup right next to RB. Both stations stayed up long after the games were out.

It will probably be taken up by gh:wt because its a new product people are already familiar with rockband

I imagine if your local BB has the RB1 demo, then they'll likely get a RB2 demo..

The demos are effective in selling the game from what I've seen.

Hell, I've sold a few dozen copies of GH and RB at BB by jumping on an Expert level song and jamming.

i could see it going either way, but if they did have one I would have to get there the day it went up to playb/c after that the instruments are gonna get broken or something.

They'd be crazy not to put up demo units... Of BOTH systems, as long as they have the space. It'll be the start of the holiday season, and with the economy being what it is (in the US at least), it only makes sense.

If they don't put them up before launch, it won't matter anyway. We'll all aready have it then. ;)

demo units have driven sales on every game since GH1. They'll send them out. I'd be overjoyed if HMX quickly finshed a simple demo for us to jam on though. It may not be cost effective but anotehr rock band tour would be cool. I went to the Northwestern stop last eyar and sucked it up on drums. i'd love to come back and own the stage.

My Best Buy still has the first Rock Band demo unit. In the same exact place, too.

lol i work at a gamestop and to attract people to buy guitar hero 3 i used to play the intro to TTFAF just tapping the guitar with two hands and me and my co-worker would play One (our favourite song) co-op and literally head bang during the last 2 minutes making it look easy and fun for other people...

people are into that...if they see you dancing around having fun yet still able to hit every note they think they can do that and they buy it...

same thing for rock band... me and two co-workers.. (lol cuz one has to run register) play guitar, drums, and vox and just have fun...

Same here. I can recall singing "Dani California" and saying "C'mon Best Buy, LEMME HEAR YOU!"

Remember that these games are still selling in the top ten, and that they are less than a year old now. It makes sense to still have them out for people to try. And if your store still has that display out, it makes it even easier to simply replace the old with the new.

So true, me and my gf were at best buy one day while waiting for repairs to get done. We started playing on Hard with drums and guitar. After a few songs, we looked around and had a crowd just watching us. I bet we must of have sold several units right there. I offered other people to play but they wanted us to keep going, so we did for almost an hour. Was very fun and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

The Circuit City in my town has a big screen set up with two comfy gaming chairs. You may have inspired me to take the wifey and go set up shop for a while.

lol at my local bestbuy both rb and gh3 stations are still active, same with my local gamestop.

there's a really high chance that the rb1 stuff will just get replaced with the rb2 stuff, i seen a few best buys that have ALL dlc and everything unlocked as the workers play on expert etc...

heh probably reporting MSP cards as "defective" in order to pay for the DLC.

The demos are good for business on both sides. They promote the product, increasing the likelyhood of a sale not just of the product, but in that exact store. Also, they lure additional customer traffic in that retail location and keep it there for longer. The longer a customer spends in a retail store, the more likely they are not just to buy the demo product, but other products as well.

I would hope so. The first time I bought my PS3 I was at Best Buy. I had never heard of Rock Band until I saw the demo of it there. Too bad it was all sold out, and I ended up buying GH3 to hold me off until I could fund a bundle.

So it would be a good idea for them to have one for the people that still dont know about it.

Mine does too, one drum stick and missing the yellow pad... the guitar has no whammy bar and all but blue solo key are missing. Must play them when they are first there or thats what happens...

Of course they'll have RB 2 and GHWT or they're just ******ed and going to lose alot of money
