When I played the Demo at Best Buy I activated Overdrive by tilting the guitar, but I'm wondering, are there other ways to activate Overdrive? Is it like Guitar Hero where you can hit the select button or something and activate it? Or are there new funky ways of doing it?

you tilt the guitar or press select I think. I'm not sure the guitar at my best buy was unplugged or something when I went.

Dropping your pants wont activate overdrive but it might get you lucky

When you have 50% of your Energy built up (like in GH1 & 2) you have the opportunity to use Overdrive.

With Guitar, same as in GH.

With drums, once you hit 50% and above Energy, you will see Drum Fills come in, and if you hit that green note at the end of the fill, you will activate Overdrive.

With Singing, same 50% and up deal, you will see yellow/gold paisley patterns fill the vocal range now and then, that is your chance to say/sing/shout something to activate the Overdrive.

Dude that info is easy to find (Wiki much?). If you're that desperate do your own damn homework and make your own damn FAQ.

sorry for suggesting something that i would think would make sense to be included on the official rock band site, and not wiki or any other site. i wont mention it ever again, boss.

also i must have missed any previous mention that the yellow blob signified the time to activate overdrive. i previously only read that you shout or something to activate it.

All I'm saying is you want it so bad you do it. I can't believe your making a thing about it when you can do it yourself.

Here you want it so bad I'll do it. I have an empty slot on the n00b guide anyway. Geez.

i dont want it that bad, i just think it would be fitting to have it on this site. but hey if im the only idiot that doesnt know what im doing (i know im in the minority of those who never played guitar hero) it serves no purpose other than for me. the fact that i dont know the basics of the game i think already excludes me from a list of qualified authors for a gameplay FAQ. seriously if you're only doing it as a favor for only me, dont bother. do it if you think it will benefit a community.

Sorry man. Just a peeve of mine. Like when everyone *****ing about n00bs but nobody would just make a damn guide. Drove me mad.

Out of a kind gesture I'll have a fact sheet up by next weekend. Just for you. :p

Thinking about it it seems like an obvious thing I should have done already.

no worries. i realize youve done more than your fair share to contribute to this site and i dont expect any other burden to fall on you. all i was trying to say was look at all the new topics recently regarding fills and overdrive and solo buttons and stuff. all related to gameplay because more of us are getting a crack at it at best buy. i figured a guide here would make sense. i bump the suggestion hoping that someone sees it and goes, "yeah, i should help out the site and do it..."
honestly if i knew what i was doing i would have already started working on a basics guide...but im still learning how to just hit the buttons correctly on guitar on medium level. i quickly found that button hitting isnt an easy transition from fingering frets on a real guitar. im not advanced enough to toy with the various effects and such. i tried messing with the whammy bar and ended up missing the note completely. FAIL! plus unfortunately at my local best buy you will usually find a line of people waiting to play so that wont allow me to stray from finishing the song and experimenting.

Yeah. I understand. I shall cease my hammer and hope it's all good here on out. :D

I'll get started on the fact sheet. It'll be done by next week. I kind of enjoy updating the guide and been looking for an excuse to use a new slot.
