I'm new here, and I'm not quite sure if this has been mentioned. if it has, flame away and/or delete the topic.
We recently set up the Electronics Christmas Shop at our Wal-Mart yesterday. The Christmas Shop features live PS3, Wii and Xbox360 displays. On our PS3 we have a Rock band demo set up, complete with a drum kit and a guitar (no bass, mic or bass drum pedal).
Call your local Wal-Mart to see if they have set up a Christmas Shop at their store, as this is the ifrst year they're doing this, and it's only being done in a limited number of stores.
After playing through a couple of songs, I gotta say, I can't wait until release day! The graphics on Rock Band are soooooooooo much better than GHIII (I own it for PS3). The first song I played was Dani California on Drums, on Hard. I got a 95%. First try. Then again, I have been drumming for almost 11 years now, so I'm a much better game drummer than I am game guitarist.
Check it out!!

The demo version right ?
Yeah. The people who said it was broken because all demos were for 360.

Fck Wally World and Best Buy for not putting the pedal on the kit.
That's about 75% of the drums. The rest is basically an advanced version of Donkey Konga.

Yeah. I was at Walmart and saw them setting the sucker up. I was like, "Oh, woah...hey, are those, is that? Drums? For the...Rocking...I have...to...I want." But it wasn't set up by the time I needed to head out so, maybe this weekend.

I played the Wal-Mart demo. The PS3 was trapped in a plexiglass shield, and turned itself off every 15 minutes or so because of overheating. After the second shut-down, I just gave up. This wasn't a problem with the game, of course. It was just a poorly engineered display housing. I hope they give it some more room to breathe.
It looked phenomenal and played great, though. And I didn't experience the lag I'm struggling with in the PS3 version of GH3.
I really hope these demos don't crash all across America. That wouldn't be great advertising for the PS3 or for Rock Band.

... you do know that's how they shipped, right?
They're demo versions with slightly nerfed functionality.
Not that I'm exactly fond of them, but sure, blame the stores?

Just to clarify, I've been to two Best Buys, one by my work and one by my house. The one by my house does not have the bass pedal but the one by my work does (they even have a stool to sit on).
The one by my work is the one closest to Microsoft HQ and is usually THE Best Buy for releases and such. It's the one where Bill Gates was at for the Halo 3 launch. So I dunno, maybe a select few kits were shipped with the pedal.
