if you just made a new character, and youre tired of getting 10 dollars from the lower tier songs, gogo DLC, the hard dlc has the same money price as the higher tier songs ;)

I think even the easy DLC pays very well. If I were really desperate for fast cash and willing to do something distinctly un-fun to get it, I'd probably find the shortest downloadable track, buy it, and then play it repeatedly.

well BWT mode is alot better at earning money than solo mode. i can get 1200 dollars for 3 songs while i could only get about 450 for 3 songs on solo mode. but that's still not fast enough for me

All DLC pays the same (and it's less than the top tier songs). Your best money per minute is something short like Run to the Hills on Medium.

Crackity Jones is probably the best $/min.

Yeah, ofc doing the highest tier songs would be better if you had already completed the game, but if you just want to make an awesome singer really quickly to be used in band quickplay, or perhaps to check out all the clothing for the female chars! I did that ^^

The money for 5*ing a dlc song on any difficulty is $150
I forget if you get more for gold starring it, though
So play all of your favorite dlc songs, since you have all of them or just play through the whole career and you'll get enough if you 5* most

$180 for gold-starring it.

1 (rant). Boo hoo. Where can I find a cheat code for $999,999.99?
2 (tip). Play higher tier expert songs. $300 / 5*

Money per minute? Lol everyone do the MMORPG grind dance! Personally I've never really felt that I was lacking in money if I played a bit, but I guess I can give a tip:
An easy song and 5 stars is worth a lot more than a difficult song and 3 stars. Play stuff that you know you can 5 star. Also I guess a short song like one of the British punk clone band songs would get you it faster.

When I first made my characters, once I realized that the bonus songs were worth $150 if 5-starred, I played certain bonus songs (didn't think about completing the Bonus Tour itself until later) often, not going back to the regular tour until I had most if not all the clothes and/or instruments I wanted for that character (though the rare instances of BWT also contributed). When my dad started downloading stuff (on the PS3, DLC can be accessed by all users on that machine regardless of which PSN profile was used to download), I of course discovered that the DLC payout is the same as that of the Bonus Tour, so I alternated between bonus tracks and DLC (and still the occasional BWT). In the event I choose to create any more characters (I still have two guitar/bass, four drum, and two vocal slots left as of right now), I will do the same. With the characters I've already made, it no longer matters how much money they have, I just enjoy playing as whoever whenever on whatever songs.

I was going to tell you to stop buying DLC, figuring you'd ask about getting money so you can afford RB2 or some new peripherals or something..
But instead, I'm going to tell you to buy more DLC. ;)
Tips for new characters
-Make sure you have enough songs to rotate through so you won't get sick of them.
-Play songs that you know you can get five stars on... Or better, get gold stars on it.
-Play the shortest songs for the best $/minute value!
-Crackity Jones is about a minute and a half long. Grind this song for fast cash.
-Playing on Easy will earn the same amount of money as any other difficulty. Pay your little brother to earn new characters cash? ;)
Existing characters with completed tours
-Towards the end of the tour, you start earning more money than you would in DLC... Perhaps the last two tiers? If you're good enough, you could probably earn a lot of cash playing things like Tom Sawyer, Run to the Hills and Enter Sandman (assuming you haven't gotten sick of it from online quickplay).
-You could always check to see where your scores are lacking and play those. Like in an RPG, while you earn money, you also level up (get better). Going back and playing a Solo Tour song can also result in getting a higher score, or even a new Gold Star song!
