Hey guys,
My band and I, The Homicidal Squirrels, are looking to make new band t-shirts for our epic tour of Chicagoland. I got a basic text logo done on the back, but we'd really like to have a cool logo. I have some decent PS skills, but nothing too fancy, and I'm not extremely creative. Think anyone here could design us a band logo? If we end up using it on the t-shirts, I may even consider throwing some cash your way as a thank-you for your time. Again, our name is The Homicidal Squirrels, so feel free to get "creative".
Thanks in advance, can't wait to see your creations!
EDIT: oops, title should say graphics, in case you haven't figured it out already.

I do a lot of PS art for DVD covers and random advertisements. If I have a chance this week I'll give it a stab - mainly because your band name is so catchy!

I wish I had PhotoShop. $600 is too much pour moi, though.

we're a ROCK BAND. obviously. lol. but seriously, we play the game and love it, but we've also played a few songs on real instruments (surprisingly, we're all play instruments in real life as well, and only one was inspired by GH/RB). The t-shirts are actually for our epic video game tour across Chicagoland. I don't really care what the logo looks like, just something that pertains to the band name. I'm not really picky or creative when it comes to these things, we'll just take a band vote on which one (or ones) we'd like to see on it.

If this was your logo, I would instantly buy your CD.

I tried a crack at it, I was going to make one that was kind of badass but I couldnt find a pic that suited. So I went with a kind of funny logo. I like it. I saved the PSD so I could make any kind of small changes.

(Right click and save as PNG file, this should take away the white background which would make it for easy to stenzle on any colored shirt :D)
If you use it then ya know, I COULD use some microsoft points to buy some songs in rockband ;)

I might take a shot at this, just for fun. Do you like basic images or fancy, full-color illustrations?
I prefer to make basic shape-oriented images, so if people like it, they can easily draw a facsimile to describe it to someone else.
I did the same thing for another band to make magnetic car stickers with their logo.

I just need something t-shirt worthy. Whatever you guys got, I'll take at this point.
This one made me LOL: http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5172/hslogoui3.png

That's my favorite one so far. :3
Maybe try and clean it up a bit.. or trace over it in Freehand (or some other similar program) so it can be easily printed onto a shirt. I'd wear it!

What is freehand??
Kevhouse

Guessing he means this:
http://www.adobe.com/products/freehand/
But I honestly don't know.
EDIT: Oh, and again, the t-shirts are going to be black, so make your backgrounds black instead of white.

It is a PNG file with no background so If you open it up in photoshop or something like that then it shouldn't have a background. If images was enabled here then you would see the red background of this site.

I'm going to be printing the shirts through a local printer, but just for kicks I uploaded the current logo to www.vistaprint.com and got a preview of it. The background works fine and all, but I got this message with it:
This image has low resolution and may not print clearly.
We recommend that you adjust the resolution to 300 DPI and re-upload your file
Is this a concern?

I was actually planning on using this for the back:
http://www.eyeofthesouthtiger.com/hsontour.jpg
but I like your (crzisme) back as well. Fits well with the logo you designed. I'll have to talk to the other people ordering t-shirts, and see what they'd like. Probably making a decision on what we'll be using in about the next week or so.

As for your error,
"This image has low resolution and may not print clearly. We recommend that you adjust the resolution to 300 DPI and re-upload your file"
you will need to open the file in photoshop and change the dpi from 72 to 300.
When ever you decide on a logo, I can help you change the file to the proper sizes for print.

I've updated both logos a bit.
resized the full logo (fits better on T-Shirt)
added "on tour" to the back.

Did you make that render?? That is pretty sweet if you made it yourself.

After consulting with a few band members, we were able to agree on this.
http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/3306/homicidalsquirrelcopysf5.png
-- Too not crazy enough for us.
http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5172/hslogoui3.png
--Had a great humorous idea, made us laugh at first, but still a bit messy. If this one were to be cleaned up a little, still has a good shot. also, it bothered one person that it looked like white mice and not squirrels. Had good intentions, and could potentially go places. Humor and that "WTF?" factor is a great plus to us.
http://www.cjmtech.net/HSshirt_front_back.jpg
-- Most people seemed to like this one. Did you draw this yourself? If so, great job. I think it's cool, but not quite the crazy we were looking for. At this point, we'd have to choose this one.
Feel free to throw in another one, or a revised logo! Still have a few more days before we have to come to a decision.

Here is an attempt I made. More of just a t-shirt design than a logo.

I like it! Sent it to the bandmates, I'll see what they think.

We'd really like to incorporate the second somehow. Even if it means sticking it on the back somehow. We might come to a final decision tomorrow, or at least getting t-shirt quotes. If anyone here wants one, let me know ASAP. set up an e-mail just for this:
homicidalsquirrels@gmail.com
I will be taking PayPal (account is under a different e-mail!) and you can also mail me a check/cash if you prefer.

We should do more of this kind of thing. Drawing and rendering are fun and I think it's cool to look at other people's ideas. I really liked the chainsaw one.
I drew one a few days back, and just thought I'd post what I had. It's unfinished, but that doesn't really matter since the OP has what he was looking for.
Here's hoping more people start looking to the boards for input like this.

That's not bad! As a matter of fact, we haven't placed an order for the t-shirts yet, and we're still open to new ideas. I have a few friends still working on ideas. Ideally we'd like to have the t-shirts done in no more than a week.
If you finish up that drawing soon, let me know!
