I only played Suff. City on medium, so I got to play around with fills. My favorite fill to use for that was y-r-y-r-b-y-b-y-g-rrrrrrr-crash cymbal into overdrive. What's yours? BTW, When I get to Tom Sawyer's drum fills I am going to play them exactlu like Neil though.

So the drum fill lets you play anything you want and it's not preset fills? Like hitting the pads like you said or going crazy on them and randomly hitting, would they sound different as to how you hit it?

Some fills are preset on the note chart, but during the jam/fill sections, yes, you can go crazy and do whatever you want, and it will sound like what you're doing.

When you have enough overdrive fills turn into free-form fills, and yes each pad has a sound mapoed to it going low to high with the crash at the end.
Edit: Ninja'd....damn slow typing wii

No this isn't how it works. If you have enough Overdrive energy charged up to use it, every fill is a freeform one because that is how you activate overdrive. If you don't have enough overdrive power, the fills are charted out.

all crash symbols
LOL.
It would be sweet if you could go into the options and set an effect for each pad during freeform fills. For instance, "I want the green and and blue to be crash symbols and the yellow and red to be toms," etc.
