Audio Level of Microphone

How loud can the microphone get? Cos I can barely hear myself when I sing into it, and that's already with the microphone level maxed, and the vocal track muted. Dolby Digital is turned off.

Am on PS3. I even went into the Accessories settings in the PS3 menu to max out the microphone input level (set at 5). My PS3 is connected via optical out to a 5.1 sound system.

Cos my Rock Band set is barely 2 weeks old, so I'm wondering whether my microphone is faulty.

I have the same problem with my MIC...
I have xbox360.
I use 2 channel sound and I hear my voice very low... is that normal?

It's not normal on either occasion. Try messing with your audio settings.

The Microphone Input Level on the PS3's menu is for bluetooth headsets. It has no effect on the RB microphone, to the best of my knowledge.
