I finally gold starred "When You Were Young" after trying out a new drumming technique. I've been working on that one for months. I also got new high scores on RttH, Outside, Detroit Rock City, Don't Fear the Reaper, and Electric Version. I have this new technique where I hit triple notes with right-left-left instead of right-left-right. This frees up my primary arm quite a bit more, and I can adapt to the subsequent notes more readily. This was key in that one awkward drum roll in "When You Were Young:"
red-red-red,
red-yellow-blue-blue-green
Today's increases put me over 10.1 million for the first time. Maybe I'll even five-star RttH one of these days (not holding my breath). :P

I have been doing that a lot lately (doubling or tripling up on one hand for short fills). I was never able to beat "Move Along" on Expert until realizing that you have to play those eighth notes with the red pad with just your left hand. After making that adjustment, I am close to 5*'ing it. It is interesting you bring up "When You Were Young". I have a lot of trouble with that song because I have trouble hearing the drums in the song. The vocal and guitar track is so loud that I am usually sightreading the song. I often don't hear the notes I'm playing in the song. Is there an option to adjust the sound of the other instruments like in GH I wonder?
I made some adjustments to the position of my drum pads and to the grip on the stick, and that has really worked well for me. I spent last night besting my earlier main setlist songs by 30-50K. That is satisfying.
