Alright so we know about the new gameplay elements...

But what about new custamization elements? Like Is there more in depth body sizing? Or more clothers, hats, or hairstyles? Are hats in a totally different catagory? I need to know these things.

Also I want to know if we can custimize the hardware and such on our guitar. Like chance the pick-ups, the knobs, bridge, the headstock, and the fret board. That would make this game sick and 1/2.

We already know this bit is true. If you watch preview/demo videos, or look at some of the screenshots on rockband2.com, you can see some of the new stuff.

The rest of what you want to know, such as instrument customization or hats being separate... we don't know about yet. I'm thinking one of two possibilities will happen:

1) HMXSpraynwipe will discuss this in a blog entry before RB2 is released.
or
2) We'll have to wait until the game comes out.

Somehow, I fear it'll be the second option.

I'm personally trying to avoid finding out too much about the specifics of the new elements in RB2 so that the game still has the "new shiny" feel on day one.

Of course, then I'll log on and post about some item I like or such the day of release, and be shot down for posting such a "n00b" topic :p

The game will always have a shiny new feeling to it, I think. According to HMXSpraynwipe's latest blog entry those Battle of the Bands challenges can last as long as several weeks or as short as a few hours, and they're going to add challenges daily. They're trying to give us reasons to play the game every single day. :p

Actually, you know what would be cool that is more related to this topic? If every now and then HMX released like a promotional shirt or some other piece of clothing or other wearable item that will be available for free download. I think that would do a few things: It would give people more reasons to turn on their game more often (more character customization options) and it would make more people check out the Rock Band Store, and thus possibly buy DLC if they're there anyway and see it. I know not everyone is obsessed with Rock Band and keeps up with what's coming out every week like a lot of us on this board. Many people probably don't know what DLC is out!
