NOT A FANBOY TOPIC OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT
I have all 3 next-gen systems being PS3, 360, and Wii and here are my reasons:
1. Xbox Live Marketplace
It has proven to be the best store for any of the systems with consistent downloads many of which are exclusive. When taking a look at downloadable content on the PSN and then looking at the same game on 360 the differences in downloadable content can be massive.
2. 1080p Presentation
I'm pretty sure this game will not be natively 1080p, so it will only run at 720p on PS3. It'll be upconverted to 1080p on the 360 since the PS3 currently can't upconvert games other than the previous systems but its still a better picture.
3. The Fastest Patches
Patches come out for all games on the 360 regularly, so if there's a problem with any of the games its most likely going to be fixed on the 360 first. A great example is that GH3 didn't have offline co-op on any of the versions but the day it came out there was a patch on the 360 the first time you played to add that feature, and I'm sure many more to come.
4. Xbox Live Play/Presentation
Known for its slick navigation, this will be the best way to go online. Easily find games, send game invites, private chat people that aren't in the band you're playing with, etc.
With all this said, and owning any system that the game is going to come out on, I can't help but pick the 360 version after comparisons. Sure you can say the guitar is wireless for PS3 but that is it, and its bluetooth which I don't trust in the first place proven in other scenarios.

Lol, no.
1. Yeah, maybe, but for a game with this calibur of DLC, the XBL Marketplace's interface will not matter because I'm sure that Harmonix will have its own DLC interface for categorizing and organizing all the songs they plan to release.
2. Before this, I was thinking that you are a semi-intelligent guy who knows his stuff. Now I don't, because the PS3 natively supports 1080p out of the box. It was one of Sony's main selling points that the 360 had to upgrade to.
3. Harmonix will release patches for both games simultaneously if they are present on both systems. 360 and PS3 cross platform games get their patches at the same times.
4. Rock Band is going to have it's own online interface (or so I've heard), thus making it where, again, the XBL interface does not come into play. Plus, you've got to pay for XBL to play with others, and you don't on the PS3. Therefore, making the PS3's online more friendly because it doesn't take $50 a year out of your pocket.
And no more console war threads, k?

Ok, several things.
Number one the PS3 is wireless but it isn't bluetooth, so I guess you can trust it more.
Also they said the DLC will be released on both systems simultaneously. So as far as songs go there will be no advantage.
Patches, on the other hand are a different story, I mean you are paying 50 dollars a year so it's a good thing they are doing something with your money.
And the biggest gripe I have, is why would the game run as 720p on PS3. I've seen that it will run at 1080i, so does the PS3 downscale it to make it look worse?

I've got all 3 systems as well, but I aim for the 360 version of pretty much all the multi-platformers right now.
The 2 big reasons being:
-My TV doesn't do 720p so the PS3 is automatically crippled (great "forward-thinking", Sony  )....
-I've got a muuuuch bigger Friends List on the 360. Joining or making a band in RB will be much easier.

I know the PS3 supports 1080p, but only a few games support it. The only way to get 1080p in a game on PS3 is for it to be natively 1080p. There are only 20 or so games I believe that are that resolution, so both the PS3 and 360 version will both be 720p most likely, 360 of which can upconvert itself to 1080p. I know my resolutions probably more than most people on this forum, I own stand alone Blu-ray and HD DVD players along with receivers for high res audio.

By the way don't take any of this personally, I fully support any version of the game even it be PS2 because it'll be a fun experience. I'm just pointing out things from mulitplatform experience I've had with other games. Get any version you deem fit.

Uh. No. Simply put HELL NO!
Its been stated that both versions look exactly the same, include the same content, and play exactly the same. Oh wait. The 360 has a wired guitar and requires a USB hub.
Hmm. Sounds like to me like the PS3 version is already two up on the 360 version.
360 version = not superior.

Right, and the multiplatform experiences every has had with them because most developers are lazy as hell. This is how it goes:
Game is developed on 360
At a later date, when the game is finished, it is coded for the PS3
Developers don't want to spend as much time, so the water it down on the PS3
People see the completed and watered-down versions of both games and think the 360 one is better because some people are just too damn lazy.
Harmonix isn't doing this, though. They're making it run as smooth as the other on all systems.

Cocky much?
If a game is 720p, it looks best in which format? Guess? 720p.
Upconversion is really not that amazing. I can see how it makes a difference playing old games on a large HDTV, but I don't really see a need to mess with the current PS3 games, as any difference is negligible.
Instead, I hope more games will be natively 1080p.

For that reason, I'm interested in seeing how Assassin's Creed turns out. It's my understanding that they have separate teams working on the game for each system, and that its not developed on one/ported to the other.

I agree, but this blatantly screams fanboy topic, also you never even mention the best part: Achievements!

Yeah, I know, where's Apples or a "Report Abust to Moderator" button when you need one?
And on the thing of Achievements, a year ago they were fun. Now they're just for achievement whores who want to beef up their gamer score so they can feel better about themselves. :-/

I wish that these wouldn't turn into fan boy threads, because I think that there is definitely some good discussion to be had for those of us that have both systems and are still trying to decide which system to purchase the game for.
While the official line is that the PS3 and XBox 360 versions are perfect equals, there have been more than enough news items to put some doubt on that claim. I'll try and round up the evidence and start linking in a new thread (so hopefully it has some time to be read before it's locked as a "console war").

Meh, I couldn't care less about my gamerscore, but I still love me some achievements. It's just kinda cool to do something in a game and see "Achievement Unlocked," like an extra little recognition for accomplishing something. I finished BioShock a while back, and then was playing Bully on my PS2 this week and getting all disappointed when I did something significant in the game and didn't see the little achievement symbol at the bottom of the screen. :D
For me anyways, it's extended the play I get out of some games, because I have fun just trying to unlock all the achievements. That was definitely the case for BioShock. That game rocks.

Achievements really do make me play a game more to squeeze everything out of it, that said I've played the 360 demo at BB and the PS3 demo at walmart and both seemed exactly the game gameplay and graphics wise
