I noticed something really sweet the other day at the BB demo. I noticed that the game would zoom in on the guitar and actually show the correct specific strings vibrating for every note/chord played, not to mention the correct fingering. I hadn't heard that this would be implemented before i saw it, and that made seeing it all the more awesome. Add this to the excellent lip-synching on the singers and you've got some beautious visuals to rock to. Just wanted to share the most pleasant surprise I got out of the demo.

Not to turn this in to a GH3 bashing thread, but I bought GH3 yesterday (I like it) and have played the RB demo several times and RB's animation just destroys GH3. Ignoring style differences, RB's is so much smoother, especially the drummer! GH3's drummer looks like a robot.

There are some great little touches like this. Just look at any close-up of the bass player and you'll see the fingers plucking the individual strings.

Also, while I was too concentrated on drumming to notice, my buddy who was playing guitar with me noticed the singer crowd-surfing during a solo on one song and rolling around on the stage during the solo of another song. Just really cool presentation overall.

Plus, the overall gritty look is way more consistent with my experience as a musician than the overbright, overblown GH3 venues.

I think I may very well have played more Rock Band demo now than I have my purchased full copy of GH3.

I like that they went that detailed about it but honestly, i never wathch it anyways in guitar hero. Even when someone else is playing i find my self watching the not chart.
Maybe ill pay attn a little more now.

Agreed. I LOVE GH3's visual style. I like it better than Rock Band's, for that matter. The drummer, however, reeks of fail, it's like they didn't even try to animate the guy. I'm not sure how that one slipped past QA, honestly.

I still want to see the straps and cords.

I still want to see the straps and cords.

The continued lack of straps is annoying, for certain. However, the issue with cords isn't as big a deal to me, as I used to have a wireless transmitter for my bass and there are a good number of musicians who use wireless systems to avoid any issues with getting tripped up by wires on-stage.

I'm old fashioned. I like that silhouette.
