Read the sound track it says and I quote

"Joe Satriani has said that Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2 "have just licensed 'Satch Boogie' and 'Surfing with the Alien' for upcoming versions," according to an interview with Satriani in Guitar World Magazine"

I so hope this is true Joe Satriani is my all time favorite!

Sorry I did a search and did not see it were it was going to be in RB2. I know it was going to be in Guitar Hero World Tour and the main reason I was going to get it but now that Satriani is going to be in RB2 not so interested in GH:WT. So what if is an instrumental expand your horizons.

True, you can never trust what is on Wikipedia. I could be wrong and just not remembering correctly..... although the news about the songs is old with GH, I don't recall ever hearing this related to RB. Again, it is Wiki!

So what if is an instrumental expand your horizons.

That was all well and good when it was one guitar (or with bass). you have to accommodate for all four players, this is a multiplayer game afterall.

Joe Satriani is not on the official list of songs for Rock Band 2, damn.

Even with the official list out there people start rumours, haha.

Nice to see other players that are Satch fans. I Voted him as my fav. guitarist in a thread inside the Rock Band forum. Amazingly, no one else agreed. I say those people have never listened to Surfing with the Alien!

Obviously you do not own DLC.

... yeah, no DLC at all. [Sig]

Just don't want people getting the wrong message reading the title of the thread, starting talking to friends, word spreads and next thing you know Harmonix sucks because he isn't on the Rock Band 2 disk.

That would be cool. Maybe if he still is submitting tords Rock Band, he will give us some of his songs for Chickenfoot if they make it big.

regarding Wikipedia,

Yup. pretty much the worst site for finding out about our game (or any unreleased game) ever.

Actually, some time before the RB2 setlist was officially announced (and even a few days before it was leaked, I can't remember. I think it was all within like a week anyways.) someone posted in the discussion for the RB2 page on Wikipedia stating that he was a play tester and basically rattled off a legit list.

It wasn't put on the frontpage for obvious reasons, but honestly Wikipedia isn't ALWAYS wrong.

Oh, I know Wikipedia isn't always wrong... in fact, most of the time it's right... but still... because it has the potential to be wrong, it's not really something you can use as a valid source... general interest, sure.

Satriani's quote about GHWT and RB2 has shown up in quite a few places besides wikipedia. I would say it's accurate and we'll be seeing some Satch as DLC in the future.

The sentence in question is cited on Wikipedia, so stop saying that Wikipedia is not always right, because in this case all signs point to it being right...

However, I do hate it when people say "Wikipedia says..." when they could easily just click through to the citation and tell people about it instead...

Joe Satriani is without a doubt the Guitar God... and he taught Steve Vai how to play.

using wikipedia as a source

The original source was not Wikipedia though, it's cited. It's from an interview in Guitar World. Also, it could just be DLC, the term Rock Band 2 or Rock Band Expansion sometimes are misused and refer to DLC. It's happened before.

All you fools bashing wikipedia show me something that is contradicting it, put up or shut up. If this was such old news show me a link to were it says Satriani is going to be in Rockband 2. I never saw anything that says he was going to be in rockband 2 and I follow Satriani pretty heavily. Just be happy that there is a good chance that he is coming to Rockband 2 if you don't like it move along.

That would be awesome if they had some Satriani! Eric Johnson is damn good as well...

Satriana did not teach Vai how to play guitar. Satch did give Vai extensive lessons though but one would say that Frank Zappa taught Vai as much about the guitar as Satch did.

that being said, it was cool growing up knowing that even a player like Vai was looking for ways to improve and getting lessons.

Satriani is Meh... i'd rather have Eric Johnson or Buckethead
