Rockband 2 european release

Simple question, if guitar hero world tour is promising a world release therefore releasing in europe this year and rock band 2 most likely will release in europe mid next year (c'mon, rock band 1 is not even out on the PS3 yet here!) then will this drastically affect rock band 2s sales over here in Europe? I'd like to think it will, being aggrivated by rock band 1's slow release over here i would have jumped at the chance for a familiar alternative and am most likely planning to get guitar hero world tour over rock band 2 if it is released 1st here.

Anyone else thinking the same thing? i mean i know rock band 2 will have a huge amount of tracks when combined with rock band and all the d/l content but it seems unreasonable to recieve it over half a year after the US.

Well, i think some people will be a lot pissed if they decide to not release it at least a month after or something, a whole year is very frustrating.

Being European myself (from Denmark), i imported Rock Band 1 from the UK, and i will probably do the same if they do the same trick again by releasing it only in UK, France and Germany first. And this time around, all i need is to get the game :P

But still, i will be getting GH:WT, so for me, it wont affect anything. Ill get both games no matter what, i live and breath for these games, its the best games ever made. FACT.

ha, that's the problem i guess, regardless of how much us europeans moan and groan we'll all still get rockband 2 eventually anyway, even if we are messed about in the process. I think though, that tact worked for rockband 1, but with an alternative out GH:WT the people who only want to apply themselves to one franchise will go with GH:WT due to its early release.

My opinion is that rockband 2 will have to be released worldwide in order for it to meet the same fame that rockband met. Hey if anything it's just polite. And i do realise the hypocricy of my statement there as even if they released rockband 2 a year after release in the US i'd still probably buy it.

I am from Denmark as well and got soo tired of waiting I actually imported the PS3 version from the US back in March. Best game ever, which is why it saddens me that soo many people will most likely miss the experience. Because of the release policy from HMX I don´t know anybody even talking much about Rock Band anymore. People seem to be thinking about the release of GH:WT. Loosing interest plain and simple. After the world-Record setting strange release policies of Sony (not releasing the PS3 in the one place where it would most likely outsell the Xbox?) I didnt think I would see anybody shoot themselves in the foot like that, but HMX proved me wrong.
From a buisiness point of view I am afraid Rock Band will be a major flop over here - I am not going to repeat all thats been said about this but its really HMX´s own fault. I am just sorry that so many people will miss out on the best game in the world.

I know i mean that's the thing, world releases are all the rage these days. Hell if a game as big as metal gear solid 4 can be localised into every language under the sun for a world release i'm sure Harmonix could manage it with rockband if they so desired, which leads me to the conclusion that they don't desire it. Saturate the market in the U.S then release here when the hype dies there, what's left to wonder is this conception that us europeans are seemingly thought of to have no concept of the outside world, contrare to the fact that we recieve the hype at the same rate as the U.S.

I think though the main thing that really got me amd about rockband's EU release is that for absolutely ages they didn't even announce a release date or a conclusive reason for the delay.

I live in the UK, I'm importing a USA xbox, and the game, because I refuse to wait for it to come out in England.

Hmmm I think it's probably a wrong thing to do but I've grown tired of gaming and ready for giving up. I'm 29, been playin computer and console games since I was 6, owned every thing from an Atari 2600 to a PS3 and avoided Xbox altogether due to the fact I had a PC and thoutfully pointless... until Activision decides to suck up Microsofts arse and give it the royalty treatment.

I will buy RB1 since I've waited for it for months and months, but if they decide to leave the European PS3 users out again for a year for a RB2 release then Activision can get their money elsewhere. No release date for RB1 yet America gets new peripherals, hundreds of downloadable songs and an announcement for the second game... that's why it's taken so long... Act/HMX don't give a **** about ps3 or europe... they decided to develop an entirely new game instead of fixing something that should have been done at most 3 months ago!

Balls to you Harmonix, your roots from GH were on the Sony PS2, your money was made there and you ignore us, thanks!
