View Full Version : 17 To Buy A PG-13 Rated Movie?

I'm 16 and I was at Walmart the other day trying to buy "21." but she asked me if I was 17 and I told her it was rated PG-13. I argued with the cashier and she gave me some BS. Luckily, my dad was there so he had to "buy" it. My dad said maybe Walmart keyed in the movie wrong. It doesn't make sense to have to be 17 to buy a PG-13 rated movie. Any answers?

Lawsuit time!
Seriously though, it's half your fault for buying a movie, anyway.

I'm more surprised that the folks at Wal-Mart actually gave enough of a crap to bother with checking ID in the first place... them getting it wrong is par for the course.
Good movie, BTW.

I didn't really like it, myself... I remember my buddy going because his woman forced him into it and said he was thinking he'd rather redo the endless setlist than sit through the second half :D

yeah. The DVD new releases are always cheaper there, but I'll probally never shop there again. We have a best buy closer to us. I like the convience of never having to be ID there. (I'll be 17 in a few months though...)

You shouldn't be shopping at Walmart in the first place. They're truely evil.

I get the feeling that a lot of you have never worked retail, or at a bar/vendor/etc.
If someone looks under 30, you card 'em. You don't, you risk your job. It's the law where I live to not sell rated stuff to minors.

It's those UNRATED bonus features they were trying to save you from, like the 20 minute deleted hardcore sex scene between Kate Bosworth and Liza Lapira! :D

Who the **** are you to tell me where I should and shouldn't shop? It's close and cheap. Gas and bills are expensive as hell. Having cheap food and stuff is a Godsend.
And by "morals," I meant that they're trying to push that family-friendly image (they don't sell booze) and obviously they let bad stuff happen behind the scenes that make their prices so cheap.

(I have never bought anything from Wal-Mart and never will)
That's fine, but I never wanna see an anti-corporation post from you.
If you are admitting to being part of the problem, don't you dare complain about it.
Wal-Mart's business practices, with the high price of oil, are the two biggest problems with this countries economy.
I can't wait for 50 years from now, when there's one corporation and everyone makes diddly squat.
Nor do I want to hear a complainant about corporations "ruining" music.

Um maybe in your town they dont, in Nebraska they have a section, although small, with beer, wine, and hard alcohol.

You see, Wal-Mart is really the only logical choice. It's either Wal-Mart or the local grocery store that is overpriced as hell and sells no electronics.
I'm sure when I become mature enough I'll hate Wal-Mart, but for now it'll do.

Hate to say it, but I don't know of any of their major competitors whose business practices are much better... Target is taken to court over labor practices often as well, K-Mart just doesn't have anybody working for them, and Meijer... you know it's bad when a unionized company starts its employees at making significantly less than Wal-Mart, who is non-union.
Just as you mentioned to Julio that you don't want to hear him complaining about corporations, I want you not to talk about the economy, as it seems pretty obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. If anything, we need more Wal-Marts, not fewer.

Local Grocery Store = Personality, Less Parking Lot Murders, Less Parking Lot Rapes.
Wal-Mart = No Personality, No Benefits, The Most Parking Lot Murders In The Country, The Most Parking Lot Rapes In The Country, Puts the little guy out of work.
At least shop at Target if you're not gonna shop at grocery stores. BTW, don't buy music at Wal-Mart, it's tainted.

Target is twice as far away as Wal-Mart. We also live in the middle of nowhere in the Bible belt. Parking lot rapes are unlikely.

Also, guys, stop telling Julio where to shop. I hate Wal-Mart, but you know if it helps him save money and get his electronics, why shouldn't he? Gas is expensive right now and would you want to spend twice the gas money to go to Target or pay higher prices at a Grocery store?
