Fellow Rock Band forum member pmpboarder invited me to a local bar where a radio station was holding... a Rock Band tournament? AMAZING!
Click HERE (http://www.rockband.com/rockers_blog_entry/Apples/389479)for the blow by blow details. A chilling tale of thrills, spills, failure, and triumph. Follow the story of the fierce upcoming band TWISTED APPLES (him Twisted, me Apples) as we go toe-to-toe with other top local bands for honor, glory, and ultimate victory!

Congratulations. Again.
EDIT: Excellent write-up! Took me right back to the bar. (Even though it's only been a couple hours since we left.) Anyone who wasn't there can fully appreciate it. Well said.

I think you missed this post in your other thread, Apples. But I'm happy to say my prediction was spot-on!
Apples, for your birthday, I'm giving you half of our winnings from that upcoming Rock Band tournament on Thursday. And if we don't win, I'll, uh... I dunno. Let's just win, okay? Simpler for all of us!
Happy Birthday. Wednesday.
And thank you everyone who has congratulated us thus far!
My suggestion is this: if you hear of a Rock Band Event/Tournament/Anything in your area: GO. Just drop what you're doing and GO. That is all.

I know this is my third post and we're still only on the first page of this thread, but if you read Apples' blog post, you know how excited I am right now.
Anyway, I just wanted to add this:
Apples playing guitar and singing was very damn impressive -- especially doing so in public and competitively. After each song we played, people congratulated him and shook his hand. After the final song was played and we were declared the winners, there was this trio of extremely hot girls telling Apples how impressed they were with his innate (maybe not innate, but still) ability to play guitar and sing at the same time. The blonde in particular (you know the one, Apples ), was very excited to be talking to him. (And she didn't even know that he owns these forums!)
[Okay, let me just stop for one second to reflect... Apples, why didn't you get her number? I know we were both kind of in shock (hell, I still am) that we won, but she clearly expressed interest. Okay, back to the stuff.]*
Apples will modestly say, "Oh, they weren't that good-looking" or "Well, they were congratulating both of us", but I saw the looks in those girls' eyes. They wanted to Welcome Home Apples to a Ballroom Blitz of Foreplay/Longtime, if you know what I mean. (If you don't know what I mean, Google "sex".)
*EDIT: Apples' response:
Her boyfriend was right behind them. It would have been poor form and he probably would have taken offense.
Okay, that's it from me on this topic for the night. Probably. I hope you all enjoy Apples' blog. I was there, and I can vouch for each statement in the blog as true. As if Apples would lie to you.

My cousin and co-worker both called me a few weeks prior, telling me, "Last night, this place had this thing. I was totally gonna call you!" I was like, "Oh, thanks. Last night."
But then that got me thinking they might do it again, so I just checked online. Sho'nuff...

You're right. A tragic, yet lovable fruit and his plucky sidekick go up against all odds in a last-ditch effort to feed their dying grandfather. (apparently he eats ION drum sets) Along the way they must fight cruel and relentless villians (like the DFTR drumroll) on the way to a heartwarming triumph. The feel-good event of the summer.

I was thinking more on the lines of "Remember the Titans." You know, a good underdog story, but I think I like yours better. It will appeal to the kids better.

I would buy that movie. make it happen Apples! I want to have to go buy it someday for my kids when a commercial comes on that says,
"Buy Apples' and pmpboarder's quest for the ultimate Disney Rock Band soon, because they are going in the disney vault forever, or at least for five minutes until we get your money and then we will take it out of the vault." :D
of course Disney would make you play thier Ultimate Band game or something like that for the movie. :(
