I just got back from pre-ordering my rock band package...thank god I did.
The guy told me that there were 12 xbox 360 preorders, but only 1 for ps3...thank god that I own a ps3!!!
The guy did confirm however the "streetdate" was the 20th for me...Florida so I'm excited. Too bad for those poor 360 owners, so many pre-ordered and he said there won't be many in because of the bulk size of the box

I too called EB games just a few minutes ago. The guy on the phone confirmed the Nov 20th date to me as well. He also said, everyone that puts money in for a pre-order is guaranteed a copy for that day. And, the store has to have a total of 100 pre-orders to have a midnight release. If there is going to be a midnight release they will call everyone with pre-orders and let them know. I live in Pennsylvania. I am hoping since I live in the town Penn State University is in, and people around here are INSANE for Guitar Hero, that there will be enough pre-orders for the midnight release. :)

You would think that. I've seen where this isn't the case. Maybe it's just the video game place I go to on a regular basis, but I've witnessed pre-orders given away.
But it should be guaranteed. They shouldn't take on more pre-orders than they think they can get.

The unfortunate thing is that the guy said that not money of bundles will be coming in because of the size of the box plus they just aren't getting a lot of them in.
Hopefully, there will be more then 1 ps3 version so I can get it.
I CAN ONLY HOPE for a Midnight release...god only knows that i'll be outside waiting while I play IT Monopoly....just like the PS3 release (i'm a IT nerd...ha.ha)

its because of things like this that I preordered online. A preorder at a small store is far from a guarantee with a low supply product.

That sucks man, Last year when I bought my 360 I saw about 8-10 PS3s sitting in the store ready for pre-order, a kid kept asking if he could buy one and the guy kept telling him no he can't because they were pre-ordered. Whoever gives away a guaranteed item is a douche.

I'll tell you, the fact 360 has more consoles pays off on the 20th, I have both systems but getting Rock Band for PS3, though around here PS3's might still be gone since that's my luck.

i pre-ordered the ps3 version from ebgames today in canada. when the guy looked the game up, he said "holy ****, its $500!" he also said the release date was dec. 10. he also said that the xbox version was listed as $150, so yeah, it was wierd. all i can say is i hope its not released dec. 10.

I traded in a bunch of GameCube games I haven't played in a couple of years and my old GH stuff and got over $170, thanks to the 30% trade-in bonus towards a Rock Band pre-order. I'm so glad I don't have to pay anything additional. I was expecting to get less than $100 for it all.

The fact that there was only 1 PS3 copy just means only one other guy pre-ordered it is all. They ship copies to stores based on pre-orders made before release day so that means demand is low and the amount bought by Gamestop for PS3 will be less is all. If the company sees less demand they buy less. It actually means that you should reserve it even more so if you are wanting the PS3 version. We had 26 pre-orders for GH III and got 36 copies for 360 and 4 for PS3 and got 6. You do the math 2 extra PS3 copies and 9 copies for 360. Since There are 5,000 Gamestops now it is all supply and demand because you can't stock all of them with enough copies. As for the pre-order sellers that comes down to the store manager. They are supposed to hold them for 48 hours and most will but a few jerks will sell as many copies as they can push out the door after the first day/midnight release but that is rarely the case.

Some of the time it's not the fault of the store. Like the store I work at, for the Madden midnight launch, our district manager told every store, and I quote, "I don't care if they are reserved, sell every copy you have at the launch." We did, but we were lucky enough to have other stores near us that got enough extra copies, so we did store to store transfers like 3 times throughout the day just to fill the reserves that weren't picked up at midnight.
