It worked for Pete Townshend and Lars Ulrich. Both of them have stated in interviews that they were turned onto the games from experiences with their children.

Tight. I'm not one of those people that are all like "OMG, THE BEATLES!" (as a matter of fact, they really don't appeal to me at all), but I know how much so many of you want them in this game (as well as many of my friends), so I'm hoping this will somehow contribute to the acquisition of the Beatles...

I don't know if McCartney has any famous kids, but I DO know that I'd love doing the mandolin part of Dance Tonight on guitar. I'd probably try to do the little dance and everything. The official music video for that song is so frikkin' brilliant.
