In the meantime, if you have an electronic drum set, go check out www.GDAmania.net (http://www.gdamania.net). All you need is a Turtle Beach MIDI to USB cable from Fry's and you're golden.
Just create an account with any e-mail address and you have access to download Drummania (yes, the same game in the arcades), all the songs ever released by them, and other random mainstream songs that people've mapped out. All absolutely free.
It's even got a FAQ that explains everything you need to know.
Granted, some of the user-created SIMfiles aren't synced perfectly. One solution is to fix it with a SIMfile creator, but if that doesn't work, I just delete it.
Obviously this doesn't replace Rock Band, but it is a good appetizer while we wait for RB to come out.

I am a huge DrumMania fan and so I also use DTXMania to play songs on my computer. I recommend everyone looking into it as well. There's one amazing person on there that has done a large amount of Dream Theater songs for the game. Super fun to play. I can pass them all as well. :p

I recently bought a Roland TD-3 kit and would love to get it working with DTXMania. The GDAmania site seems to be down at the moment and I can't seem to find any more info about this (at least not in English). Could someone help me figure out what I need to do to get this set up on my computer? I downloaded the program but it doesn't contain any songs. Do I just download songs from Torrent sites and hook the drum module up to the computer using a cable like this?: http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/usb-midi-cable/home.aspx
Thanks for your help.
