Okay so,

I played GHI, GHII, and now I play GHIII like no tommorow...I play expert on all the songs and I have yet to see solid abuse to my controllers.

I would like to know WTF these kids could be possibly doing to these controllers to screw them up, do they slam them on the ground when they finish a song like some "Rock Legend"? lol

I will get to the bottom of this...stupid kids

I would like to know this myself. The demos have been up for a week and guitars are already broke? I really hope its just cheap demo hardware.

A friend of mine works at the South Setauket, Long Island Walmart, and his mom is one of the managers.

They put a demo for GH3 out, and within 5 hours of being put out, the whammy bar was broken, and two of the fret buttons pushed in.

Needless to say, when I asked my friends mom if they would put the Rock Band demo out, she just laughed at me :(

Most people just think "it doesn't belong to me, I don't have be any gentle with it". That's just the way some people are, not just kids.

What sucks is that the drum kit at the best buy near me has a non-functional blue pad and you ahve to hit everything else really hard for it to register. I have no big complaints though, I got to play on the rock band tour today and they had all the equipment in pristine condition.

I fell on one before, and it snapped the whammy bar out of place, but it still works. It wasn't my fault though, someone pushed me off of a bed. Stupid kids...

^_^ From what I hear the controllers just suck and were made poorly (LP and Strat) lmao.

On a serious note, I have no idea what the hell kids do to the demo controllers... I played GH2 the other day at walmart (way too laggy so I stopped) and the new wireless guitar they have felt great, went back today and play GH3, the buttons felt all ****ed up but surprisingly the guitar still worked fine, and the whammy was worn out big time. I did however manage to calibrate the lag better on GH3 so I actually played about 4 songs on expert but I had to hit the note a split second before I was suppose to, didn't bother me too much. That was the TV's fault.

As for the LP at my EB Games here... I should just go make a nice tombstone for it.

I've seen the Guitar Hero straps twisted like hell.
WHAT THE HECK DID THEY DO TO YOU?! WHYYY!?!

*Ahem* Joking aside, people should really try to be careful
The "That's not mine, i don't care" excuse is so cliche nowadays, just imagine if i went into their house and broke everything because its not mine.
ITS NOT RIGHT.

Sounds like a case of a poorly built/designed guitar.

what pisses me off is the packs of friends that come in a just sit on the demo forever never giving other people (myself included) a chance for even one song to see if I like it. Because unlike them I can't spend 12 hours in a best buy, I have a life! So to all you people who do that please be courteous and when you have 20 people standing around you forever, they're probably not admiring your wicked mad skills, they want to try the game!!!

I agree 100%!

The Wiimote and Nunchuk don't work right, the Xbox 360 controller is poorly designed, the Sixaxis is poorly built, the SG was a piece of ****, the Xplorer has only one working button, the Les Paul's strum bar, whammy bar, and tilt sensor NEVER work, the Time Crisis 4 arcade machine never works right, pinball doesn't even work (I mean, the ball can't be fired, how the hell do you play this ****ty game) Soul Calibur 1's cabinet sucks balls, toilets are incapable of flushing by design, Sennheiser speakers are the worst units in the world, and books come with beat up corners and torn pages.

I have learned this from taking a visit to my local mall and using units accessible to the public.

While I was there, I bought you some tissue paper and something to clean out that sandy mangina. :)

Ive never experienced these types of peoples myself, I went to bestbuy with 3 friends but we all took turns in fair manor. Otherwise would be douchebagery.

BB demo day 1: guitar works perfectly. BB demo day 2: some issues at first, but compensated for. BB demo day 4: guitar is nearly unplayable without serious compensation. By compensation I mean pushing down extra far on the strum bar. Since upstroke still work fine, it seems that people have been putting way too much downward stress on the strum bars. Why would this happen? My guess is that most Guitar Hero veterans would expect a click for each strum. Upon not hearing a click it is likely that some overzealous folks would push down super extra hard waiting for the click to come, only to damage the controller instaid.

Its a good thing that doesn't happen at the gamecrazy I work at, since we're such a small store(probably 80ft x 30ft) and we never get really busy like an in mall EBgames or a bestbuy, we can easily moderate who is on the demos and how they are treating them. Also since we never get too busy we usually end up watching the kids play the games, so they know they're being watched so I think they generally try not to do anything that could get themselves yelled at.

That said peripherals just wear down over time, but not in ways that make them unplayable, for instance, our LP has gotten alot of use since the GH3 demo came out until now, so the fret button are very easy to push in, which is actually a good thing though, for it allows for easier shredding :p

But I think the main reason game controllers get all messed up is because no one of authority is usually watching people play the demo since they have work to do, and what usually happens when a family is at say, a walmart or a bestbuy or a mall is that the kids will go "mom, im gonna go play videogames", which is a pretty good babysitter for parents since they know their kids will be glued to the tv. And since their parents aren't around to watch them they usually end up destroying the controllers whether it be on purpose or not.

So wait. When I download Baba O'Riley, and try to do that sort of windmill strum that Townshend does, is that going to break the strum bar? If it will, I'll be sad.

I don't exactly abuse my controllers, but I also don't want to treat the guitar like a little baby, and gently push the strum bar as I play.
