Hello everyone, I've been reading this board for quite some time and I've finally decided to join and share something with those Rock Band fans who were turned down by the 1Up lame @$$ review.

I've read so many good and bad things about Rock Band that I decided I had to try it myself and see what Rock Band was all about. So there I was in the San Francisco Best Buy rocking with the Rock Band guitar and drums. I really liked the Rock Band guitar much better than any of the Guitar Hero guitars. The new buttons felt much better because they were closer to each other and the guide line on the mid yellow button has been replaced by dots. The length of the guitar neck was longer, which made it feel more like a real guitar. This Fender Stratocaster guitar weighted less than the Guitar Hero guitars and I liked that because it means that I will be playing more hours without getting too sored. Now, the drums were just amazing..!!! They felt like real drums and it was awesome the way Harmonix had incorporated them in the game. I think the drums make Rock Band be a true winner next to Guitar Hero III. I have made up my mind and now I know that this game will be mine. I can't wait to get this game.

Great to have you on board! It's good to see the game solidifying more fans permanently.

There's been a lot of people that say they were on the fence for a while. But as soon as people demo'd it, and we learned more about the outstanding features and game modes, it really made the decision for them.

yeah just hanging out in Best Buy, especailly since GHIII was broken, a large crowd of people just came up to the RB display and were all talking about how cool it is. I'm sure that it really solidified RB as a great game in a lot of people who were watching's minds. If my band wasnt jamming last night, I woulda been there all night, haha!

Welcome to the Jungle Treo!... I mean, the forums (referring to your other thread ;) ).

Anyway, yeah, the drums are awesome, the guitar rocks (except the strum bar), and the game in general was nothing short of amazing (and that's just the demo! :D ).

Did that mic work? (The one shown in the picture)

haha, we wanted to hook up the LP to the RockBand display, but the store associates didnt want to or something, man, I'm pretty sure we helped HMX sell at least 10 copies yesterday, people were really impressed, even my friend who I brought with me, who isn't really big into rythm games said it was awesome

i personally demoed the game on friday at my local best buy. i loved the new strum bar. i like to use a pick when playing and it helps. the new strum bar also feels so darn better than theose crappy GH controllers. i also am partial to Fender too so excuse the enthusiasm. while playing the game this guy comes up to me and asked if i wanted to rock, i agreed so we played epic. man, for this guy being a drummer in real life (that's what he claimed) he SUCKED. missed more than half of the notes while i was working on a 98% on hard. he was playing on medium. he kept bellyaching and after the song he went into the whole "GH is soooooo much better" desertation. can you say insecurities? i laughed at him and kept playing the demo. i loved it!!!!! can't wait till the 20th! you guys at HMX did a phenominal job with the game!!!

The demo comes with a mic, but it doesen't work. It doesn't have buttons or anything. Just there to let people know that they can sing if wanted.

The mic didn't seem to work and yes the GHIII demo wasn't working either. I asked the best buy reps to reboot the sytem twice and the game froze over and over. I did tried the GHIII demo at Walmart and it felt pretty much like GHII. So yeah Rock Band is essentially the new Guitar Hero generation.
