Contrary to my nick I don't know that much about drums. Although how much is there to know? lol (not to offend anyone). I'm a fan of Faith No More. I know I can play the drums to "Epic" but would these drums be able to play something like the first 20 seconds of "Midlife Crisis"? I mean the drums in that song sound really cool and unlike anything else. Is it because the drummer had a different drum set for that song or what? I know that song's not in the setlist but I was just wondering.

The way this game and Guitar Hero work is that hitting a note with the drum/guitar controller causes the actual note in the song (whatever it sounds like) to be played. So the guitar/drums really have no sound of their own, they just play whatever the notes actually sound like in the song.
The only small difference in rock band is that there are free form guitar and drum parts in the songs, in which case the instruments do have kind of a generic rock drum/guitar sound (I haven't noticed if they change based on the song at all).

the drums would be able to be charted for midlife crisis. The green pad would be the pad for those weird symbol noises at the begining of the song.

Ok I see. But for some songs do bands use different drum sets to get a different sound or something?

Yeah but if he plays at a concert he can only have like 1 set on the left side and maybe another set on the right. I haven't been to a lot of conerts, do they ever like switch a set of drums in the middle of the concert if a song is gonna need it?
