I saw the youtube video with people playing this song on Rock Band and I was expecting to see it in Rock Band. Anybody has any idea what happened to Welcome to the jungle? I'm sorry if this question has been asked again, but I searched for an answer and I could not find it.

Well judging with Slash clearly siding with Guitar Hero(even doing commercials)....... I'd say that was the main factor.

Yeah, unfortunately, WTTJ is no longer for Rock Band. It makes us all really sad. :(

Long story, I'll try to make it short. That was a very VERY early build of the game, before Fender was even a sponsor, thus the GHII controllers. This was before it was even announced, this was just at a conference, and they were showing off the game. They didnt know that someone was going to video tape it, they didn't have any licenses for the songs or anything, they were just using it as a test song.

hmmm, the original song used to sell the idea of Guitar Hero was "Buddy Holly" by Weezer, i believe, and it hasn't been in any of the games yet food for thought, :D

Slash doesn't have much/any control over GnR songs, so if this is the reason, its not because Slash didn't want songs in RB, but that RB didn't want songs in their game, if a member of that band was going to be a spokesperson for that rival game.

Watching the video makes it clear that a) this was planned, and b) the people knew about it. I think they just didn't intend for the video to get leaked out, and were simply using it to show off the concept of the game.

The mods should sticky this thread, because it gets asked almost every week.

I'm pretty obsessed with this question so here are the facts:
The song was used in a very early build. Possibly before or soon after the press release. This was before they had any real rights to the song and the vid was never even supposed to be public. Then Slash joined Neversoft and they got WTTJ. My guess is either Axel (who has the GNR rights) didn't appreciate the leak or Activision coughed up tons of dough to get exclusivity. The latter makes sense as Slash/GNR/Velvet Revolver are major to GHIII.

Dope Nose, actually. They used it because they already had the master tracks from Amplitude.

I'm certainly hoping for Appetite as a full album DLC - it's pretty not-kid-friendly, though. I'm quite certain that Axl owns the rights to all the GN'R stuff.

he meant the Rock Band WTTJ Video.
The didn't have the strats then. so obviously the Xplorer was the only guitar for the 360.
