I want to know which Bands everyone thinks should be on Rock Band and if they think the same as me. Rock Band needs more solid tracks and less wanky and whiny trash. Here's a few bands i think Rock Band deasperately need, everyone else can just continue the list and comment on Band choices after this post.

Bands Needed on Rock Band : -Bullet For My Valentine
-The Fall Of Troy
-Atreyu
-H.I.M
-Racer X
-Ozzy Osbourne
-Megadeth
-Escape The Fate
-Van Halen
-In Flames

Whiny trash? Dude, the only bad songs on Rock Band are Cherry Bomb and Celebrity Skin. Oh, and by the way, Atreyu fit your criteria for whiny trash. Their Epic cover made me cry. Now, what Rock Band needs is some good ol' Primus.

Less whiny trash and the first 3 bands he lists...anyway...

Van Halen is Guitar Hero exclusive.

The first three bands I listed have some of the most technical instrumentals among todays music. I'm pretty sure that if you compare atreyu, the fall of troy and bullet for my valentine to the likes of NIN and The Pixies, you'd understand too, Don't just bash some bands because you never listened to them or gave them a chance. Also, if you don't think the vocals would be challenging, just go ahead and try to sing along with any of their songs. Screamo isn't just rambling noise and whining, It's an emotion that this world is slowly forgetting, Anger.

Les Claypool is the musical equivalent to whiny :P.

But, since this topic is bands Rock Band needs, I'm going to list necessity bands that seem pretty obvious but Harmonix seems to keep forgetting about them instead, rather than the less popular bands I like: Green Day, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Queen, Marilyn Manson, even Bush to some extent (considering Harmonix is all about the 90s grunge with Smashing Pumpkins, STP, Nirvana, etc.), Reel Big Fish. Even performers like Elton John have some pretty good and ridiculously widely known stuff, like Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting. At least they grabbed Billy Idol and more Bon Jovi!

As for less popular bands I like but never expect to see or bands they've gotten once and I never expect to see again: Thursday, more Ok Go, Less Than Jake, more/better Hole than Celebrity Skin, Spacehog, Taking Back Sunday (for vocals!), more Muse, Butch Walker and/or Marvelous 3, Black Flag/Rollins Band.

In my opinion, Rock Band is too mainstream and not enough underground, it's like everyone's tottally lost the meaning of rock. Some solid raw power really wouldn't hurt. Enough garbage already.

Unfortuantly I have listened to them and concluded they're whiny trash along with Escape the Fate. Also technical songs have been horribly boring.

Technical songs have been horribly boring???? Those are the only good ones, the challenging songs. What difficulty do you play on? Easy ??? Technical songs are what motivates people to actually go all out just to beat the song, and if you have to play your heart out to beat a song, may as well make it a good one, right? If you're afraid of technicality, your best plan is to stick to playing the xylophone ;)

and who would be singing to these underground tracks? If you are not familiar with it you won't sing it, and if you try to, you won't enjoy it. Seriously i am willing to give almost all the songs from the RB2 track list a shot except for one... Beastie Freakin' Boys because cut and dry, their songs suck to play as they are not songs to chart for guitar and bass... PERIOD!

If you play an underground song and you like it man, then im sure in time you'll learn the lyrics and sing along, im quite sure that you haven't heard of alot of the music on Rock Band before it was available. but I can bet you know the lyrics now ;)

oh I also hate the beastie boys :)

truth be told i knew many of the tracks on the game (but basically none of the extras). I tend to listen to a very wide variety of music, but i can't say i sing along to any of it, because a) i'm not a singer b) even on easy i have a hard time keeping up with the lyrics :p

The bottom line is, no matter if i like it, it doesn't make it a success by any stretch. I never downloaded any of the Pixies because the short preview didn't pull me in and did not sound at all like something i would ultimately enjoy, and that i know that this is not only my mentality. I have quite a bit of DLC as well, as my track list is at around 150 tracks. (from the original 50-some that came with the disc)
