View Full Version : How long before we see mods to the strum bar?

With the surprising amount of mods people have made to their past guitar controllers, how long do you think it will be before someone mods their guitar's strum bar to make it rebound more and feel more like the previous strum bars?

I personally am undecided on the feel of the new strum bar - in some cases, the soft, mushy feel is preferable because it lets you play double/triple notes easier. On the other hand, playing a lot of fast notes in a row is difficult because the bar does not recede to a neutral position quickly and that entails having to move your hand more to compensate.

I'd be interested to see what some people will do with their guitars once they get the game.

Well, actually, I think we're all hoping this problem is fixed by the time the game comes out. ;)

Is it a problem? I can easily see this as an intentional design feature to make the game harder, instead of rediculous note charts.
People complain about the game perhaps being too easy, and then we have you jokers complaining about them making it "a bit harder" to strum up and down?

.......as such, I ask the question, is it really that bad? Could it really be considered a problem?

Agreed, the only thing I had problems with was that I didn't know that rounded off rectangles were h/o's p/o's, thus making Detroit Rock City's intro harder than it really is. Btw, the solo buttons are awesome.

i personally demoed the game on friday at my local best buy. i loved the new strum bar. i like to use a pick when playing and it helps. the new strum bar also feels so darn better than theose crappy GH controllers. i also am partial to Fender too so excuse the enthusiasm. while playing the game this guy comes up to me and asked if i wanted to rock, i agreed so we played epic. man, for this guy being a drummer in real life (that's what he claimed) he SUCKED. missed more than half of the notes while i was working on a 98% on hard. he was playing on medium. he kept bellyaching and after the song he went into the whole "GH is soooooo much better" desertation. can you say insecurities? i laughed at him and kept playing the demo. i loved it!!!!! can't wait till the 20th! you guys at HMX did a phenominal job with the game!!!

I was at best buy today and there were a couple of 10 year old boys playing the guitar on hard and they were doing awesome and had no problem with the strum bar. Take that, people who say the new strum bar is too hard to use!

^ Imagechan. Though I wouldn't recommend it if you're under 18---they have some pron there. I would recommend using the search feature to find what you're looking for if you do go there though.
