Me, ... well this week ... I beat Detroit Rock City on expert drums yesterday, I squeeked by and in fact was told I was like one note from failing out at like 75% before I caught the beat again and pulled myself up to yellow area to finish the song.

... and my brother beat Run To The Hills and Smokin' on Expert Guitar, bringing him to 121/124 now... ahead of me, damn!

Finally got the 100% Expert Lead Achievement (Roxanne), and with it got my first Gold Star... that leaves me with just the Drum one left of the 100% marks... I don't own drums (won't until RB2). Later I got my second gold star while also getting the Coattails achievement.. I think that was for Still Alive, but not sure.

I bought drum silencers this weekend so now the neighbors are happy!

My roommate complains about the noise my Omega pedal makes more than the drum pads... He says he can drown out the tapping of drum sticks with a fan, but can do nothing about the thud of the beater hitting the clamp...

Kinda sucks cause I like to rock out at all hours, but it wakes him up. Lucky for me, I'm moving on Friday into the basement of a new house I'm leasing. Omega pedal on concrete FTW! No more annoyed roommates. (Besides, they'll be two floors up, so 24 hour rocking for me!!)

Just got RB last Sunday (7/20) and beat my medium guitar solo tour yesterday. No big deal, I know, but I'm thrilled for myself since I just started. Now I have to play it on hard and not neglect the orange fret.

I had a pretty good week playing Rock Band. I beat Vasoline on Expert Drums with 4 stars after a few days of practice. I then moved on to practicing Detroit Rock City and passed it with 91% (but only 3 stars). My current project on Drums is Dead on Arrival. I think I will be practicing that one for quite a while.

On Expert guitar, I 5-starred Cherub Rock and improved many of my 3- and 4-star scores up to 5 stars. I also beat Little Sister for the first time ever, with 4 stars. I practiced alt-strumming the 3-button chord finger lifts of the chorus in practice mode for about an hour and I finally got the hang of it. Now to try to 5-star it.

I finally hooked up my projector to my 360 and played Rock Band in 60 inches widescreen HD. It took some rearranging of furniture to get an area I could project to without obstruction. I don't know if it really made a difference, but psychologically it seemed that the charts were easier because the note charts were bigger and a lot easier to read.

Beat the Endless Setlist with a sorta' full-medium band. Four people, but I was on Hard vocals. My lowest was 94%, and nothing else was below 96%. We got 4 stars on 2-4 songs or so, but everything else was a 5!

Got my first GS on Vocals for "Pleasure (Pleasure)" but missed a phrase and didn't get 100%. After trying to nail it for an hour, I gave up and decided to just sing "Time We Had" for fun and nailed it for an easy FC and the 100% achievement. Went back and sharpened my score to get a very large tie for 26th on Scorehero.

Otherwise, I've been working through Hard Vocals with 5 stars on most songs. Just nailed 100% on GGaHT Hard Vocals. I also probably earned 1st on GGaHT on Medium, making it my second disc song for me to get 1st on Medium (on Scorehero). One guy has a higher score but it seems suspect. Its conspicuously higher than everyone else. I don't think my first will last, though, as I used a safer, non squeezing path.

Took the entire kit to a friends house for a drunken wedding party, we rocked out for hours, and I managed to get everything back in one piece. That makes it about 10 times I've had the entire kit torn down and hauled somewhere, then bashed on by random people (usually under the influence) without incident.

It's funny but the only times I've ever had damage done to any of the instruments has been at home with my usual band. My theory is that while my band and I play on hard / expert, usually everyone is on easy / medium at parties.

I found out that even though I generally play guitar at the medium level, I can actually play Roxanne on expert and do fairly well. I was shocked at how simple the song's note progression was once I actually looked at it and didn't do the whole *panic!* thing because it was on expert. After owning the game since early January, just last night I finally beat Green Grass and High Tides on expert guitar. Amazing feeling of relief and accomplishment. I was just about to crack and get a friend to beat it for me for the achievement too, so happy I did it myself though.

I've finally broken into the Expert setlist for guitar. It's a continuing pattern from Guitar Hero and onto Rockband. I play through a difficulty fairly easy but I find it hard to move to the next until all of a sudden I can do it.

So after ages of playing the odd expert song or two I found I could do them. 5 star the easier songs and I can just scrape a 3 star on the toughies.

Was able to finish first expert tier and about 17 DLC songs on expert drums, all sight reads apart from In Bloom, which frustrated the hell out of me and I had to practice for ages.

This is a big thing for me, because I cannot play drums (but have just bought some real ones because of this game). I have also begun to notice my foot slowly starting to separate itself from my arms this week, letting me hit more bass kicks.

I played Welcome Home for the first time in a couple of weeks. My original score was 227k, and I felt like that had been about as good a run as I was going to get out of it.

I then proceeded to add 35k to it. 262,000+... woo!

I know people feel like it's overplayed, and I agree it is (though I played Black Hole Sun three times in four score duels last night, ugh), but I was pretty thrilled about adding that much to an already gold-star score. :)

And that's my accomplishment this past week, although admittedly my motivation was more, "okay, so when I beat it, my 360 was offline, so now I want it on the leaderboards!"

It took me several attempts to get through Solo 2I (I need to deploy my overdrive at the beginning of 2H so that I can get enough to deploy in the middle of 2I in the meanwhile), and then it took me a couple more attempts before I got the timing in 2M back down, but I managed! Again.

Though I did get a new high score in beating it (~330k).

Maybe one of these days I will be able to beat it consistently.

And that, my friends, is where madness lies: Trying to consistently beat a ten-minute song when you regularly fail about seven minutes in, or nine and a half minutes in.

Beleive it or not ... Behind Blue Eyes was the last song I had to beat. Young Man Blues is nuts, but after I got past the 2nd fill at the start, I didn't have a problem.:D

1. Beat All Day Setlist on hard by myself, guitar and vox. I put the guitar on hard to compensate for my complete lack of singing ability. Only had to replay one song and I scraped by the rest to get the gold icon.

2. Preordered RB 2 for my PS 3. It would be a real victory if it came out at the same time as the 360 version.

3. Ordered a new bass pedal for my drumkit. So now I will have two bass pedals when my Rb 2 bundle gets here and I can finally use my drums, which have been collecting dust for a month, again.

1. I five-starred Electric Crown on my second run through the song (expert drums). It's my third highest score overall which made me happy since I love the song so much.

2. I four-starred Cherub Rock. Not a big thing, but I greatly improved my 3-button chords and was actually able to keep a decent combo.

3. I beat China Cat Sunflower in band quickplay with a buddy (expter guitar). I think I actually would have beat it solo also since I never really went into the red and was hitting most of the notes fairly well.

4. I'm also on the cusp of a 6 mil career score on drums also. I'm sure if I went back to Hard I could easily push it over now, but I'd rather work on my expert skills instead and get to 6 million that way.

I got a few of the "Big In..." achievements, then got tired of playing Green Grass & High Tides over and over so I continued working on my DLC on solo vocals. Got 71 gold stars total over the weekend. :D

I've always played my DLC in quickplay when I first get them, and then only play them online. Now that I'm doing them in the Solo Tour and keeping track of scores, it's quite an undertaking considering I have over 150 songs. :)

My friend and I were talking about different things when the topic of rock band came up. He was saying that out of all of our group of friends, he was the best rock band drummer. And right when he said that I knew he was lying because I don't want to sound cocky, but I was better than him so we decided to settle this by playing a couple score duels. At first he was doing well he beat me when playing message in a bottle (btw all this is on expert) he beat me but I had a longer streak. Then we play blood doll and I totally woop his butt. Next he decides to pull out the big guns- run to the hills. He beat me but he made an epic fail during the big rock ending when he screwed up the last note. Finally to end it we decide to play Tom Sawyer. There was no contest, I beat him by about 10,000 points and he signed off in a huff. By then both of us knew that there can be only one really good rock band player in the group of friends. Any way that's my achievement

After having them for almost a month, I've FINALLY played and passed the entire DLC collection on Hard guitar (with the obvious exception of &#^$*@$ "Thrasher"; that song leads to some of the loudest cursing I've ever cursed).

I acquired the remainder of the DLC around July 4 or 5, jumping the collection up from about 40 or so to full size... It's good to be finished for the most part.
