gamebridge for screen footage and for hearing the music without the hits.

Seems no one has really given you an actual answer yet:

1.) You need a video capture card. You can find lots on newegg and tigerdirect.

2.) You need software to record and edit footage. I personally use PowerDirector7 Deluxe because it's the best cheap editor I've found. It's $69 and beats a lot of the $99-$129 editors out there.

3.) You need to hook your system up to your computer, and use the software to capture the video and sound through the video card you bought.

4.) Once you've done that, you can mess around with editing to make it look good, or whatever you want.

It can be a little expensive, and it can sometimes be a pain in the ass. I've done it a few times, but my computer and 360 don't really sit in areas that make it easy to hook them up - and I can't stand playing the game on the smaller screen. So I've pretty much stopped bothering.

But it's not really that hard once you learn how to use the software.

*Edit: oh - and you obviously need a webcam or a camcorder of some sort to record the actual live footage...

I like Adobe Premier Elements for about $80.

Wow, I just learned about 7,452 things about how to drum better in this game just by watching his videos.

Amazing stuff - obviously he's a pretty darned good drummer in real life.

This is possible, but it's also very possible that he's just very good in Rock Band, because the set is so much simpler than a real drum set (trust me, I would know).

Another option is to use a DVD recorder. Not a DVD burner, but the standalone VCR-like DVD recorders. I hooked my Xbox up to one of those to make this video (http://www.seinman.net/pinkpussies) and it worked great. Then you just rip the DVD to your computer and convert it to an editable format, if your software doesn't support editing MPEG2 files.

If you're going to go buy equipment, then get a capture card or a gamebridge. But if you're looking to use equipment you may already own, then take a look at a DVD recorder.

Edit: apparently you can't link to Youtube, it just automatically embeds the video. Stupid. So I had to link to my site instead of to YT directly, but you get the idea.

If you want to record footage with high quality, you should choose the right program. The screen recorder I used can help me capture whatever is playing on computer screen, so I often use it to help me record starcraft games (http://www.screenrecord.net/record-starcraft-games.html) when I was playing, and I will show it with my friends, they all say the video is cool.
