I 100%ed (FCed) "I think im paranoid" on lead guitar.
And i didn't get a Gold star...
I have never got a Gold star so i wouldn't know...
What do I need to do to get a Gold star?

You have to play on expert.

You need a different path I'm guessing, unless you overstrummed...for that song you need to get 89,908 points for the gold star, so aim for that.

It's all based on points on the expert level. Score Hero has all the cut-offs for gold star on their site.

I've tried to read these charts before but I still can't make sense of the notes relating to the chart

So 2 means have 2 OD's, I get that

3rd YB, means the 3rd set of YB notes that come up, then hit OD? Is that in grid 26 then? Or is it the 3rd set of YB notes in grid 24?

I just really don't get how that translates.

It means 2 Overdrive notes and then on the third yellow blue chord overdrive, 2 Overdrive then second green yellow chord. I haven't looked at the grid but if that doesn't help I will.

the main key for gold starts is to not miss much (if any) notes and use ur overdrive when there are the most notes coming.

To the OP : Indeed, you can FC I Think I'm Paranoid and not get a gold star. I had the exact same trouble...

So, as AnarchyintheUK suggested, I used Scorehero to get the "optimal path" he's referring there, which translates as :

- Get the first two overdrive phrases, then activate on the 3rd "YB chord" you see after getting your 2 ODs.

- Get two OD, then activate on second GY chord

- Get 3 OD, activate on the first red.


Beware, though ... This is the very optimal path, which implies whammying about everything that can be whammyed.

For mere human players like me (who can FC I Think I'm Paranoid, but not the other songs), this path won't be very helpful : I didn't whammy well enough and couldn't follow it.

I finally managed to get the GS by making a "degraded" version on this path - just go to the scorehero page indicated, and look at the notechart image it's linked to to figure a less-optimal scorewise, yet more than enough to get gs path :

The best way to figure out how to gold star a song both in score and on path is to pull it up on you tube and watch someone gold star it. That tells you everything you need to know.

I Think I'm Paranoid was my very first gold star and was the reason why I joined these forums.

The only tips I can give you are:

1. Learn the OD path charts.
2. Learn to squeeze.

Squeezing isn't essential. It's only needed if you're looking to jump three spots on the leaderboards.

However, learning the optimal OD path charts is quite essential. Once you understand those, the gold stars will come very fast.
