DLC Concern

I'm a PS3 owner, I <3 the fact that were going to be able to download full albums, I don't mind forking out the cash for them either, Harmonix does it very well...and deserve every penny I'm sure.

However, I do have a question concerning the PS3's ability to "reformat" the hard-drive. I would presume all DLC would be directed to our hard-drive, if it's a 40 or 80 gb.

Once we have purchased the album, does that purchase stick with a certain account...so in case I reformat the hard-drive or some of the sectors corrupt god forbid, Rock Band could recognize that I no longer have those songs even though I purchased them, thus asking me to re download them at no extra charge.

I would imagine this be true, I couldn't imagine Harmonix requesting someone pay twice for the same album.

Any word on this?

Probably one of the smartest moves made by Sony regarding PSN is that anything you download sticks to that account. So if, say, you cleaned your whole HDD you can just redownload for free.

wish live did that? if you mean xbox live, you can. I cleaned my hard drive at one point and redownloaded everything that I had paid for and lost.

really? hmm, maybe they didn't do that for the original xbox then because it definately works like that now. I accidentally deleted the GOW map pack and it let me download again for frizzle

Good point that did only happen with the original Live content I had (my 360 goofed up one day and killed it).

yeah i can d/l anything I paid for on another console as long as im signed in or on my original console, if i sign out though the content is disabled, except on the original console it was purchased on
