Dear Harmonix,

So I've seen a lot of posts by you guys regarding release dates for different peripherals on different game systems, and one thing that really stuck out to me was the following: It's possible that a RB2 bundle won't be released.

Obviously, no one knows yet exactly when or how things will be sold, but I wanted to urge everyone at Harmonix to please strongly consider selling a RB2 bundle.

Sure, I have a personal interest in the matter - I want to buy the bundle because it would be less expensive than buying everything separately. But consider all the fans who haven't been sold on the Rock Band platform yet. For as much hype as there was about RB1, there is many times more hype about RB2, and there are going to be many people looking to take the dive into owning Rock Band (2) for the first time. By releasing a bundle, I have a feeling a lot more first time customers will be willing to give RB2 a try, and this is a good thing for you, HMX, and for us, the current players.

Basically, I feel that releasing a RB2 bundle is the best way to continue to grow the platform. If at all possible, please consider a RB2 bundle.

Thanks,
Runch

I've never seen anything in any direction. I would assume there will be a bundle, but they definitely never said that there wouldn't be one.

Yes, but are those bundles going to be available the day of release?

This is what I was referring to:

But you still can buy a bundle right? Not at launch that I know of.

I realize that retailers are listing bundles, but that doesn't mean they know what they are talking about.

Why even release the game early? How many people are going to just buy the game and use it with fragile and likely thoroughly used peripherals? It's almost like they're encouraging people to do that....

Unfortuneatly, or fortuneatly depending on your personal situation, I think a lot of people will buy it on release day without the bundle. This is also why they should have thought about making just a periphrial bundle without the game so we could also get new insturments without buying one at a time and gouging the hell out of us. We've already been gouged enough with the periphrial issues.

Aren't there enough threads about this yet? Please do a little bit of research. All of this has been discussed ad-nauseum. The will be a bundle and stand-alone game and instruments. Release dates could change but just keep an eye out in the Announcements section or online retailers.
You're asking for something that has already been announced.

The earlier release for the game will help deminish the overstock of (hopefully discounted) RB1 bundles. It kinda makes sense from a business point of view.
Close this tread please.

Um, I visit these forums just about every day, and I haven't seen any official announcement that definitively states that RB2 bundles will be released.

If you have a link to an announcement from an HMX employee that confirms RB2 bundles, how about you post it here. And please, keep it civil.

Sorry, but you get a big *BZZZT* on that one. It's been stated multiple times on these forums that rockbandstore.com is NOT run by EA or HMX. They're just another vendor site, like Gamestop or Amazon.

Meaning: They're just guessing like everybody else.

My understanding is that when it releases in September it will release with all parts being sold separately (since a lot of people will want to continue using their old equipment). I don't know when or if bundles are coming but we'll let you know.

They have not let us know. No official release dates have been set. No official bundle announcement has been made. Stop posting links to unofficial guesses to prove your points. If you have an OFFICIAL HARMONIX ANNOUNCEMENT, then post it. rockbandstore.com, Gamestop, and Amazon are NOT official Harmonix sources.

I'd prefer a bundle to due to cost reasons, but i'd also like it to come out the same day as the stand alone game. a guy can dream can't he? :p

I understand that HMX has not come on the forums and officially said that there will be bundles avail. I always say it isn't official until HMX says also, but with HMX posting links on the "OFFICIAL" RB2 website, to stores that offer bundles ... that you can pre-order and pay $189.99 right now for the bundles ... and then not offer bundles. I just can't see HMX doing that again. e.g. ... guitars compatible.

Hey Apples ... nothing "official" ... but what's your take on this issue ?

Fair enough. I'll admit defeat. Upon further research, no "Official HMX Announcement" has been made (see above). Everything is speculation at this point.
But I'll be an a-ho and go out on a limb and say that there will be a bundle. Stores are taking pre-orders for bundles, stand-alone games and instruments.
I'm an idiot. Sorry bout that. I'll do my best to never let it happen again. But promise nothing.

Ya know what, i'll be fine if no bundle launches ever, but then someones gotta make a plea to gamestop for us to be allowed to pre order the individual instruments. Also to HMX to tell us the price of the instruments

They say the bundle will be 190 so -60 for the game that leaves 130 bucks for the instruments. If they price them at 60 for guitar/drum and 10 for the mic or something to the effect where the bundle is about the same I won't have any cow's

I was actually planning on buying the game at release and the bundle a month later risking a 30 dollar loss if I can't return the extra game, so i'm willing to pay upwards of 80 for the drum/guitar and i'll happily break even and deal without a new mic.

Me. I'll get the drums later. The guitar, maybe eventually. The mic, not at all.
