Hello, all.

I am currently planning on playing a fully operational Rock Band (all components) on a 27 inch CRT display that is not widescreen.

The problem is, all demos I have seen of Rock Band have been on widescreen monitors, seemingly fit for the three scrolling boards.

My question is - will it be possible to play the four player portion of the game on my display without everyone needing to hunch around the screen?

Thanks for your help!

Alex

I think there was a vid of some guys plating it on a 17 in non wide screen minotor. It should be cool, but I'm sure wide screen would be much better :)

well im getting a 19" HD Widescreen for free for signing up for a new TV service, but I still think the 27" Standard CRT would be worlds better

I'm hoping to get a response from someone who, perhaps, demoed the game with a similar monitor... or someone from Harmonix who would know right off of the bat. (I know many development teams are required to do tests on all types of displays)

The fact that the Best Buy demos have all been done on tiny screens gives me a sign of hope, although they are widescreen. But, perhaps the display upgrade will be neccesary after the guitar peripheral is sold seperately for adding the bass.

There was a vid on youtube of some radio station playing on a standard def 30 inch CRT set, and it did not appear to impede their gameplay.

Plus, I don't think the PS2 even does widescreen/high def... wouldn't make sense to release to a platform that would visually support the GUI.

There's also the first (or second?) IGNorant Sluts video where they played on an old-school 4:3 TV with WOOD PANELING. Everything worked quite well, it seemed. You should be just fine.

This has been asked before, and it was answered that the game should work fine on widescreen and non-widescreen TVs. It shouldn't really be a problem at all, everything will probably be a little more scrunched up but it shouldn't be bad. By no means do you need a widescreen tv to play Rock Band.

Figured it had been asked, but couldn't see anything - even a few pages back. Even Google search brought up the same question, but asked by Gamespy and other related sites. Thank you very much for the replies!
