November 5, 2007 - The multi-instrumental music game Rock Band has reached gold master status and is heading into production, MTV Games and Harmonix announced today.
The Rock Band Special Edition Bundle will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America on Nov. 20. The PlayStation 2 version will be available Dec. 18.
"We have a small army filling our warehouses with the final product, ready for our Nov. 20 ship date so players can fulfill their rock-and-roll aspirations," said Alex Rigopolous, CEO of Harmonix. "Now, our focus is putting together an amazing selection of downloadable music content for players so players can continue to further customize their Rock Band experience post launch."
At launch, only the Rock Band bundle will be available. Standalone instrument peripherals for the game, including a wireless guitar option for the Xbox 360, will be available at a still-unannounced later date.

Not sure, the North America part wasn't a quote from HMX, that was IGN itself, so they may not even know about the Canadian delay rumours circling around.

The concept of Rock Band was golden from inception. Today's news is mere formality at this point.

I've been meaning to ask this. Is there a difference between bundles? I keep hearing about the bundle, and "the special edition of RB". Are they both the same thing, the special edition IS the bundle?

Well thats good to hear, at least they have plenty of time now to get some good dlc for us. I dont think the dlc release dates have been announced, correct me if im wrong, but i did remember reading that there will be new dlc every week after launch, i guess that would mean maybe every tuesday we will be getting new songs for dlc?

"Who's Next" is set to launch a day or two after release. That's been confirmed. I also think I remember hearing that they have DLC planned for every week through the new year. It could be every Tuesday but it will probably be Thursday on the PSN, thats the day we get all our new updates.
