Don't know if this has been asked yet so if it has please post link, but....How does the ps2 and/or Wii get the 20 free DLC?; and it seems they can't take advantage of exporting RB1 material.
Any thoughts other than "upgrade to PS3" or "you should have thought about that before buying the Wii"?

I wouldn't really call it getting gipped, the facts are the support from the 2 systems aren't enough hard drive wise to hold extra songs, theirs nothing Harmonix can do about that really

Where is either system going to store the songs, and how would you like them disseminated?

Likely an expansion disc like what we saw in July?

What else do you want? Those are the basic facts against your argument.

You should feel lucky they are putting Rock Band 2 on the PS2 at all. As for the Wii having to lose out too, that's more Nintendo's fault than Harmonix's.

That is the answer I was at least hoping for. I just wanted maybe a moderator or "company man" to let those that have Wii and ps2 how they will get the 20 "free" songs.

Why, are you sure I own the Wii or maybe I was trying to get some information for wii owners. If it is any of your buisiness I have RB1 for PS3 but am moving RB2 and yes..all of my 200 bucks worth of DLC to xbox.
There is a difference between whining and trying to obtain pertainant information.

How do you know that they won't release a double disc for Wii and PS2? They may do that, or when they release another expansion pack, it could be included on that so that it would be like 50+ songs for $20. I would step back off the ledge until all the details are given.
The fact is that the PS2 and Wii have some shortcomings regarding storage and online capabilities. There are just certain issues that are going to restrict features. It's a bummer, but it is a fact.
I dunno how you'd move your DLC cross-platform. You didn't pay Microsoft the money for the DLC.
Also, the word is spelled "Gypped" as it is derived from the word "Gypsy." And please no topics in all caps. This isn't GameFAQs, people will see your post.

Best guess is... They don't.
As you don't get DLC today with RB1, why would you get it tomorrow with RB2? (brutal honesty sets in)

That was uncalled for. It's not like its your money. If I could play my ps3 dlc on xbox I would but the reason I am switching is xbox live is years ahead of PSN, more people with DLC on xbox live, GH:WT disk works with RB controllers on xbox and I'm tired of PSN always crashing and freezing up. Besides if I bought the kit for GH:WT that is 200 instead of 40 so I save 160 and that pretty much pays for the DLC.

Just astonished about how much hype people believe and how much worse their personal experiences are compared to mine.
Dedication, I suppose. [... or stupidity.]

Boy...ask a simple question and I get flamed on for mis spelling, moving consoles, people think that I think DLC works cross console (duh it doesn't), The way I titled the thread.
If you don't have an answer...move on. I was hoping someone might have seen where they were getting a disk inside the box, or a coupon for free disk or some other method. I swear some people LOVE flaming and insulting others.

Well, I personally don't care about the 20 free songs as I'm not buying it on Wii, but I had some friends that were asking me about it and I was trying to find out some legit info.....guess this proves that no good deed goes unpunished.

I have nothing against you personally and I honestly couldn't care less what people do with their money and stuff.
It's my opinion that it's a non-intelligent thing to do to jump platforms, losing all that stuff in the process.
And as for the original content of the post, everyone just needs to wait, the lead up to the release will be rich with information.

I really can't believe people still play PS2...
I really have no idea why people would desparately cling to last generation either. I mean, come on. Get a Wii. Get a 360. Get a PS3. But stop complaining that your Atari 2600 should get the same stuff as my current system.

NOBODY IS COMPLAINING....I JUST WANTED SOME INFORMATION. Why is everone making a big deal about this. If you know how the two systems get the songs or you know that they flat out won't then great, that's what I need to know. If you want to flame me for having a ps2, don't bother...I sold it a while back. I have a Wii yes, for my daughter but I also OWN AN XBOX 360 and PS3.
Oh, BTW some people "cling" to the ps2 as ps3 hasn't been out long and to be compatible with ps2 games you need the 80 gig which is 500 bucks so unless YOU are going to buy it for them (since it is apparent you have deeeep pockets) leave them alone.

The answer is we don't know. HMX has not announced what features the PS2/Wii versions of RB2 will have, or whether the 20 songs will even be made available for those platforms.
EDIT - I read the setlist announcement again, and it states the additional 20 songs are being made available "for free download this fall". That implies that only the systems that support DLC will get them. Of course, they could surprise everyone by announcing that RB2 Wii will have DLC, but I highly doubt it.

Ha, I still play my PS2 for GH, GH2, GH80s and RB (originally meant to be temporary until Wii version came out).

thank you, that all I needed to know. I wasn't sure if it had been discussed in other threads and been answered. Gee, one answer like this on the first page and they could have closed the thread.

I had a response for this, but honestly, you're too busy making an ass of yourself to actually read it, so... bye. Oh, and I have deeeep pockets because I own a current gen-console? Cool. So everyone with a Wii, 360, and PS3 is rich??
Oh, and you own all three consoles? It's apparent you have deeeep deeeep DEEEP pockets.... idiot.

The problem with your post is that you are claiming you are getting ripped off when you are not. This is why you get those responses. It seems like you expect HMX to make up for the fact that you are on an inferior console. Those consoles can only do so much due to hardware limitations.
Sure, there are things that HMX can do to alleviate some things. But there are simply some things they cannot overcome, like not having a hard drive. Its' not you getting ripped off, it's you having unrealistic expectations.

Did no one listen when harmonix explained their reasoning behind the 20 extra songs not being released on the 360 version? The 360 version cannot hold that many songs and those were the songs that were still going through license agreements at the time and might not be ready for the release date.
One would assume or guess, yet it hasn't be confirmed by sean or harmonix/mtv - only speculated, that the songs will come with the Wii, PS2 and PS3 versions of the game.
If it couldn't fit on 360 how could it fit on Wii or PS2 the all use the same storage medium.

You can afford that? It's pretty apparent you are rich... so nice personal attack on me when I have a PS3, you have a PS3, 360, and Wii...... you're wasting all that money spent on DLC..... congrats. You are the first person to be added to my block list!

Who cares if OP wants to switch consoles and repurchase DLC? It's not your money. Leave OP alone.
Blame Nintendo for making a not-quite-next-gen gaming system. Wii owners should be happy that they have ANY Rock Band at all. How many other XBOX360/PS3 games made it onto the Wii? None?
Maybe some people can't afford a next-gen system? Maybe some people are happy with their PS2? I mean, just last week I busted out my old SNES and my roommates and I have been having a blast playing Super Mario World :P
