GH3 making me look forward to RB even more!

OK...I got GH3 and I'm working on achievements..I've beat all diffs...but the game sucks so much without HMX expertise that I'm just really eagar to get RB!!!!!! WOULD SOMEONE AT HARMONIX PLEASE TELL ME IF THE WHOLE COMPANY WAS LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY AND MANIACALLY WHEN THE NEWS GOT OUT THAT GH3 WAS GOING FOR A GUITAR WITH A DETACHABLE NECK? ...worst...idea...ever. You know that you game has a problem when everybody who buys it needs to make a trip to office depot to get **** to fix your game with! The covers in GH2 were as good if not better than the original artist (except the Rush song of course because that would be blasphemous to try to create a cover of God-like Rush quality!) and now the ****ty neversoft covers are all terrible by comparison...I LOVE BATTLE MODE THOUGH!!! I'm also hopeful that 40% of Rock Band's achievements won't be either glitched or utterly imposible!

Additional comments: Rock Band is making me not buy COD4 right away...might wait until january or so.

I completely agree. My biggest complaint was the quality of the covers. GH2 kicked ass as far as that goes. But you're right, I'm looking forward to RockBand even more so now. Especially with all the good things I've been hearing about the drums. To be honest I wasn't that looking forward to playing the drums but as time goes on I'm getting more and more amped for this.

I thought GH3 was good, but without HMX it didn't feel the same.. It felt like I was cheating on HMX.. Especially for the Achievements.. MY GOD, you HAVE to be able to beat Expert to be able to unlock more then 300 points practicly.

The set list in GH3 may be consider a slight bit better then RB's out of the box, but the covers suck, and the dificulty of songs varied too much worse then the varing on GH2 for the PS2. Like if you can beat Welcome to the Jungle on Expert, you can make it to the last tier fine.. otherwise your gonna be stuck on a song you can't beat but know you can make it farther. Also I think RB will have much better DLC making the set list better if you want to shell out an extra few.

The only thing that really was good that came from GH3 in my opinion was the Guitar (despite the detachable neck), a refreshing set list, battle mode, online play, and the ability to get better at playing.

GH3 was half garbage. There are times where the track charts are soo off rhythm. And I hate the battles soooo much. But I won't go on to repeat what the OP said, the game did 2 things. 1. Made me want RB sooo much more. and 2. Made me chuck aside my GH guitar in favor of my real strat and getting some practice in. I have to say though, I liked the detachable neck just cause I lug my guitar around a lot.

More talk about Rock Band, less about that other game. Call me a fanboy, but it's by obvious fact that Rock Band and Harmonix is the better game/developer. It can be seen by anyone.

What I'm trying to say is, we all know GH3 was just a big disappointment, and we all look forward to Rock Band :)

No we all don't. I'd say GH: Rocks the 80s was a disappointment. GHIII is actually quite good. You don't have to hate on GH to like RB.
