RB animations better then GHIII by a long shot!!

So, I never even noticed it, until my couple hours at Best Buy playing Rock Band. I actually noticed it the first minute I picked up an instrument.

The band animations are amazing! From the singing, to how the singer actually looks like he's singing and he/she is doing alot of different motions. To the drummer actually looking like he/she is drumming and not playing 'Mr. Roboto' the whole game and the Guitarist/Bassist actually looks like he/she is playing Guitar!

And comparing these to Guitar Hero III's animations is not even a comparison. Everytime I play GHIII, it just looks worse and worse when seeing more of RB.

Oh Em Gee! I can't wait for Rock Band!

Indeed man. The animation in GH3 isn't up to par with RB's animation, As for texture. Well lets just say RB is Half-Life 1 and GH3 is gears of war lol.

Oh and if you want to see more kick ass animation of the game, just go to the main site. www.rockband.com they have new videos and they kick ass. Full video of paranoid (the good one) no note charts though =(

lol. Messin dude. But seriously, yes those animations were hot. The motions are fluid and realistic to you can see every pronounciation of each word, they give some expression when singing. Each member moves like you would in real life. Its 'mazing!

Ok, the only thing I think of when i see the drummer in GH3, is that dog from ShowBiz Pizza. And honestly, the gorilla probably looked more like he was singing than GH3's singer.

The drum animations in RB are AMAZING. I can't remember if it's the Tom Sawyer video or the Run to the Hills video, but the drummer hits all the cymbals in one sweeping motion. That's just so cool I almost had to change my pants. It's even got it down to the hi-hat splash in Tom Sawyer where it's a hit while closed and immediately opened.

And beautiful lip sync and great lighting. So cool.

whats sad is Neversoft spent hundreds of hours mocapping the singer and drummers and such and in the end the animation looks stiff and out of sync. Where as I'm sure HMX keyframed most everything in the game and it looks amazing. Though I have to wonder HMX if you guys use a midi controlled animation setup(maybe something close to the ANIMUSIC series?).

I do agree with you. One thing that I've noticed is going to be this. Every time I turn off GH3, I'm pissed the F off. I'm hoping everytime I turn off RB, I'll be smilin' and pumped up,...if i can turn it off. :cool:

I'll be pissed every time I turn RB off.... because it will mean that I am now eating/sleeping/working and no longer playing RB :(

Wow, the run to the hills video is extreme. I love it when the guitarist elbow drops the guitar at the end and sings with the singer during one of the main sections.. Badass.

I thought the GH III Drum-bot kick major ass! When I'm not playing the game, I wind up ye olde monkey playing the cymbals toy, to recreate my GH III "Best of..." moments. I believe that monkey's cymbal clanging action was where they got the mo-cap from.

I remember Neversoft or whoever bragging about an animation system they made to make it seem like the frontman is actually singing the songs. FAIL, its not convincing at all(it could be because the singer has the face of a monster now).

Anywho, Rock band nailed the animations, the drummer looks like hes really drumming the singer looks like hes/shes really singing etc etc.

I'm a very generous person. Me and my bud were attracting the crowds. If somebody wanted to play guitar next round and I was on, I'd give it up and watch or take up vocals... Since it seems like everybody is too embarrassed to sing in a store. Who gives a crap. I'm gonna do my crappy vocals... On HARD!! :eek:
