I finally hit the RB demo at BB last night and as I was walking to the center of the sales floor I noticed how small the drum kit was. My friend had a measuring tape on his key chain and they are only six inch pads!!!?? Please tell me that this was only the demo version of the drums! Every site that describes the instruments says "Big drum pads" What's going on folks!!?? How come no one else has mentioned this before or is it just me?

They were what I was expecting to see. I had no problem playing. They do need to fit in your living room or wherever you play.

They were all I had hoped and dreamed minus one small tiny thing. The shock absorber rings around each pad are plastic...I was hoping they would be rubber. But whatever, they are still awesome.

The reason I was hoping for rubber is after a while of hard use, your sticks would still look good and not be subject to break easily (even though they are a dollar a pack at Sam Ash or Guitar Center)

Yeah. I am wondering if indivdual instruments don't go on sale unitl Feb....and people beat the hell out of them, they'll be **** out of luck getting a replacement. We are all pretty cofident the guitar will hold up from our experience with GH but we'll have to see how the drums hold.

I havent asked my gamestop yet, but they usually offer warrantys. I wonder what type of warranty you can get for RB...

I thought a warranty was if the equipment was defective. I can see it now....kids bringing the their drum kits back to Gamestop and being like "It broke man!" They'll be stickers on the pads and drumstick dents 3 inches deep. Seriously though.....Knowing you might have to wait until Feb. to get a new piece of equipment is spooky huh?

I didn't even think about THAT! I would not be surprised if people auctioned off indivdual instruments on Ebay, etc. You know they'll be people out there who want another Strat and of course people who won't mind selling theirs. I can now see that this will be a big thing because IF there is a shortage as they say there will be....people who play it and don't really get into will put it up for sale. If you try to rob someone for a drum set, he/she can't come back with "What?! I could get a bundle for less than that!" And of course you would reply with "Good luck finding one..." Hmmm....I wonder how this will play out.

***Also...for some reason we all know the shortage is going to be on the 360 and not the PS3.

Just to put that into perspective, most drummers use no more than 2-3 inches in the center of the pad. Your common electronic drum pad is only 8-10", and also cost upwards or $85 each.

Sounds good. Thanks for clearing it up.

When i finally saw the drums for RB, it actually blew my expectations out of the water. I knew it was sounding cool, but i just didn't think the implementation was going to be all that great. Shame on me...

This man speaks the truth...Although I've been drumming nearly 5 years now and still have stick marks all over my heads..Does'nt matter if its a 12 incher or a 16...Its all a persons style,Mine just happens to be all over the place.I do have a nice nickel size worn spot on my snare head though lol.Anyway...I see alot of broken drums in the future,I mean look at some of the demos in stores already...Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Well, at my BB, although a smaller one, the first 3 days they didn't even keep the sticks out available for use because they didn't like the noise. Then they had them wired to the drumset for a few days, then I went back again and they were gone again.

This drumset still works even though most people playing it have been using their fingers, fists, knuckles, etc. If this thing can hold up to that kind of punishment, I think it can handle a long period of drum sticks hitting it. (nowhere near the amount of force as a fist).
