Hi, I'm a europe based ps3 player. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good place to import rock band 2 from when its available because I know it won't be available in England until wel after christmas.

And if I do import it will i need a region-free TV because of the import from the US?

Thanks alot

Hey I'm a PS3 UK importer also.

TV makes no difference at all. I got the Rock Band 1 special edition imported from www.gamestop.com however it looks like they've stopped doing that now. And for Rock Band 2 I'm just getting a friend from the states to send me the disk, try gamespot because certainly they were good last time and postage is based on cost of item not weight.

Yes my PS3 and TV are PAL and they play all my PS3 games fine. Just under half my collection of PS3 games is from USA and a few from Canada. It will work fine.

The downside is my guitar is busted at the moment. But my PSN ID is landofanarchy so add that. I should be back playing on about the 28th of August when I get back from New York with a new strat in my hand luggage.

Gamestop now do international orders through Barnes & Noble so you could try them, or one of the far east companies like LikSang

As for the TV set, it depends.
If you have a HDTV set (720p, 1080p), you'll be fine.
If you have an older widescreen set (i.e., pal/576i or 576p), you should be fine. I haven't bumped into a widescreen set from the past ten years that cannot handle a NTSC signal.

Games on the PS3 are region free, meaning games imported from NA should work just fine.
Basically, so long as your TV and PS3 are from the same region, expect minimal (if any) problems.

As for where to import it, you didn't mention if you already have RB1
If you have RB1, you should be able to get the game, only from any retailer (e.g., amazon, gamestop, dvdboxoffice, play e.t.c.).
If you do not have RB1, you'll need to find a place willing to break american laws.
The problem with importing RB1 was never related to shipping costs, but more related to the issue of how warranties are handled.
A surefire bet is to look at ebay when the game comes out, in this case.

Of course, the most cost-effective way of importing a RB2 bundle is to make sure you have a friend on vacation over in the U.S.
Have him/her bring the bundle with them on the way back, and you'll gladly get the person in question quite intoxicated.

Myself?
I'll be going the ol' friend-in-U.S.-and-fedex route.
