The 4 album releases have come out on an average of 4 weeks apart. The Judas Priest album was released on April 22, followed 5 weeks later (May 27th) by The Cars, which was followed 4 weeks later (June 24th) by The Pixies, which in turn was followed 3 weeks later (July 15th) by The Who 12-pack (which isn't listed as an album but might as well have been). I think we are due for another album and probably within the next 2 weeks (August 12th or 19th). What are your thoughts on the timeline of getting another album and what album do you think we will get next?

actually the Who pack thing.. was considered an album. because i believe they couldn't use Who's Next.

Most likely 21st or 28th. I hope they release an album schedule when they release their first official album since Doolittle, much like they did when they released Screaming for Vengeance.

Rush: Moving Pictures.
I can dream can't I?
and I believe they're on a '1 album a month' schedule.
Though they could be releasing 2 albums in 1 month to meet their "500 songs by the end of the year" quota.

Yes, once a month.
Yes, Game Informer rumored Rush's Moving Pictures.
No, we don't know if that's true.
Yes, that would be freaking awesome.
Yes, I know. It would be really fraking awesome.
EDIT: OK, enough already, yes, yes, yes, Moving Pictures DLC would be really, really, really, really awesome, enough already! ;)

actually the who pack is not considered an album because in the music store its not under the album section.

EDIT: ^^ By the way, he was saying that the general community accepts it as the "album" of Who that we didn't get. This is bolstered by the fact that Harmonix didn't release a separate "Album" (as designated by the RB store) in the same month.

I'd actually be pretty disappointed if the Rush album came out
I already have Tom Sawyer and Limelight....that's pretty much all I'd want from that album anyways other than maybe YYZ but honestly as primarily a singer I don't have much use for YYZ

That would be kind of pointless with one song already in RB1 and another one coming in RB2, don't you think? If they ever release the rest of the songs from that album, it would be some time after RB2 is out.

Personally, I consider the Boston pack an album... *shrug*.

yeah, i think it would be... just like it would be to release Rush, if we are to get an album, i don't know, maybe i'm crazy something new, unexpected and from a band completely out of left field that is fun to play? (something i don't consider Rush to be)

Well what the hell instrument do you play that Rush isn't fun to play? Sound of the band aside, they are one of the most well rounded bands talent-wise, and I don't think any of their parts aren't fun to play on any instrument.
And I'm kinda ticked that the Who pack was considered our album for July, since the idea of an album is to have something that was intended to be heard as a whole, and a Who hits pack is not that.

I'd Kill for Pearl Jam or early Alice Cooper, been a long time since we've seen any metallica in the store and with a new album on the way they might be due, itd sell like the proverbial hotcakes.

i say one of the following -
My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
Muse - Black Holes & Revelations / Absolution
RATM - Rage Against the Machine
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
The Killers - Hot Fuss
System of a Down - Self-titled/Toxicity
Scars on Broadway - Self-titled
Metallica - ..And Justice For All or Ride the Lightning
Rush - Moving Pictures
I think you've got some great picks here. In particular I think Tragic Kingdom would be a fantastic way to inject some great ska into a game that's sorely lacking in the genre. A Muse album would also be a great way to represent the current rock scene.
I don't see us getting the Scars on Broadway album for the simple fact that, as of this point, they seem to be going for big albums from established acts, and I can't say that SoB at all qualifies for that yet. Also we've already gotten a song from it, which kind of negates the possibility of releasing the album.
Considering Rush said just a couple weeks ago that they are just now thinking of licensing a full album to Harmonix, I can't see that as a possibility for this month unless they really put their nose to the grindstone, which I can't imagine they'd want to as they're already busy ironing out the kinks with RB2.
A Metallica album would be fantastic, but that might be the kind of thing they're saving as one of their big guns to use as DLC when GHIV comes out.
All that said, I'd still love pretty much every album you have listed there. :D A SoaD album would be especially great, but I think we'd be more likely to see Hypnotize because;
1. Less profanity
2. More recent
3. Much better selling than their first album, with more singles
4. We're getting one song from Toxicity on disc with RB2 and another as DLC, so I doubt they'd then do a full album with it split up like that
5. A song from Mezmerize is getting released as DLC this week, so I don't think that album would work for the above reason
Of course none of this would really be a problem for me because Hypnotize is my favorite SoaD album. :D

If there's a Rush album coming, I hope it's Permanent Waves.

Main reason I believe a Rush album is coming is because of the poll on the front page.
Main reason I believe we are never getting Nevermind is because it was never announced.

Hopefully. So far they've basically said "zomg yuo guyz we have teh 1337 albums comin soonz yea dood" but we've yet to see any.
I'm hoping we just get totally dominated by an album every week for a couple weeks soon.
Also we need Songs For The Deaf as a DLC album. I'd never ask anything of Harmonix again.
And to the guy that suggested the Hypnotize album, Vicinity of Obscenity would be ****ing amazing.

Nirvana - Nevermind, Pearl Jam - Alive, Rush - Moving Pictures, RHCP - Californication, Metallica - AJFA.

We are going to get the other twelve Grateful Dead songs, as a greatest hit type album!
I call it.

I'm calling Offspring.
They have 1 song confirmed on RB2 and rumors have been circulating on other tunes from their Ixnay on The Hombre and Americana albums. Neither are completely solid on their own, but an RB Greatest Hits 10-pack could be in order.

Not to get too close to an ultimate setlist thread or anything like that but, if we get more Rush, I would like 2112.
I really don't see it happening because of the lack of vocals in some songs.
Back on topic ... I hope HMX keeps up with the 1 album per month, but that was never a "set schedule", just the way the 1st 3 were released. Also another announcement with multiple albums would be excellent.

Yea they never officially announced Nevermind, but all of the songs from it were in the hack leak (which also leaked several songs which we eventually got like the Euro tracks). Still, with "Drain You" on the RB2 disc I don't think we're getting it until after RB2's release.
MADDEN 09 SOUNDTRACK.
It's being released on the 12th, next Rock Band DLC is the 12th.
If it is, WOO.
