Endless Setlist = can't fail songs?

I don't know if it's been explained yet, but how does completing/not completing songs in the Endless Setlist work? Do you have to complete every song in the game without failing? Or are you given the chance to replay any song you fail until you beat it?

i would assume your rock power would carry over through the songs so no retries.

You can fail a song in a set. When you restart, you continue from the start of the song you failed, but you take a fan penalty for restarting the song.
