One has a spring, the other has a chain.
I currently have a Omega.. and I've preordered by ION drums. I'm wondering if anyone with the SD5K kit has any experience with this pedal. Should I just keep the omega, or just spend $39.99 for the double pedal setup for the ION drum set that has 2 spring pedals and sell my omega for like $50.
I'm guessing that the omega pedal is alot better.. but..
2x ION drum pedals vs 1x Omega Pedal =/
2 pedals, and more money in my pocket cause I can sell my omega... Thoughts?

from what ive seen in the pictures the pedal that is coming with the ion set is just the roadie rock pedal. people seem to like it, but than again anything is better than a stock pedal. its kind of a judgment call on your end, do you like the real feel of the omega pedal? is double bass a big deal to you etc. etc.

Well i've never used a double bass pedal.. but there are certain parts of certain songs I can't gold or 5 star because some bass notes are just to fast for my one leg. I assume getting use to using 2 pedals is pretty hard.

I tried the roadie pedal, I just returned it actually. I guess some people liked it but I am surprised at that, the spring is not strong enough to give any feedback and it was noisy and when it hit the switch it made a clank, those things combined were enough to throw off my rhythm. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to the stock pedal, I can get up to but not through reaper/foreplay on expert using it and I felt like I was driving a boat using that thing. If you're used to the omega, then get another one. I want a pedal with a beater and pad.

You can buy another Omega, and the adapter from Omega, and then you would have what you want.
Problem solved.

I have had the Roadie Pedal for about a month now and I couldnt live without it....for me it has the perfect amount of tension to it so that it bounces back perfectly...well I take my sneakers off and play with my sock on so I can get a better feel for it , which works perfectly. I would recommend that pedal to anybody looking for an all metal pedal......

im just wondering if i need a new pedal, atm i can finish all expert drums cept DFTR, RTTH, and WGFA the latter simply cause i've never tried and the former cause the damn foot pedal that comes with the game is eggs. im sure if i had some mesh pads that would help too but sometime tells me that if i just had a good pedal i could finish these songs. if i can get thru foreplay with stock everything then i know i can do DFTR with a good pedal. also after being RTTH on hard im done with that song until it is the last thing on my list, at least i know it can be done with the stock pedal but eep i know ima break my red pad if i try.

I waited for a while for the Omega/Destroyer/Rock pedal, but it was too tiring. The pedal that comes with the ION is a hi hat pedal and won't have the quick response like in a real pedal.
I currently have my double bass set up with this: http://stnybands.com/kickbox/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=16
It connects an electronic kick pad to this device called the "KickBox" and it senses pulses and, for the lack of a better description, hits to the pad like a real bass drum. This is really working well because I can use the Gibralter Prowler that comes with it and my DW 7000PT without having to mess with switches or wires.
