Where is the Deftones Love? (short rant)

I tallied up all the bands from the various games that HMX has been part of (GH, GH2, GH:80's, RB, and RB2.) So, through 5 games, as well as dlc, we have been able to play 277 different bands. That's a lot considering THERE ISN'T ONE DEFTONES SONG. Even the game that shall not be named has a Deftones song in it!!

Sure, I know what you're saying, there are lots of other bands who haven't been featured as well. That might be a fair argument if they had the number of albums, total sales, the relentless touring, worldwide fanbase that Deftones have. They aren't afraid to change it up on the different albums and have such a varied catalog of music, you have tons of song types to chose from. Not only that, they are pioneers of their genre (and yes they predate the kraptacular Korn.) I hate the term Nu-Metal, but sorry guys, but they invented it.

I also understand how they have to include bands like Them Terribles or whatever because they won some contest. But I definitely don't understand how there are 15 freaking Pixies songs when that band is garbage. According to www.dlcstats.com (which I know is officially unofficial,) the Pixies actually undersold The Mother Hips! How do you do that??

Now, I'm not going to list all the Deftones songs I would like in the game, because, frankly, if any of them make it in, I'd buy it. It could be my least favorite Deftones song (ok.. actually, there is no such thing...) and I would still wait on my couch from the point of the announcement on Friday all the way till Tuesday at 2 AM to buy it.

So, I guess all I'm asking for is a little hope... Is there any hope for us Deftones fans, HMX?? Please show us some Deftones love, we have waited very patiently. Pretty Please.



ps: This is the band's 20th anniversary, and they have a new album coming out. Sounds like a great time to include some songs.

First off, not only do I think that Pixies suck, but so does the rest of the community as proven by their lack of downloads.

Secondly, this is a business not some club where they let their 'favorite' buddies in. In order to keep doing business, they have to make money. For example, lets say it takes 10 people to make 3 songs a week. And we will give them a minimal pay of 20 dollars an hour. So they released 14 songs, so that would cost them approximately $37,333.33 to put out that album. Now, we know that roughly 25% (~50 cents) of the song cost of the dlc goes to the band, leaving $1.50 to cover HMX costs. Lackluster (to be kind) sales put HMX at a loss that week, which, granted, they were able to eventually make up. Thankfully they released A7X the week before which more than made up for it.

So next time you feel like posting, know what you are talking about. Idiot.

But when i said you wont get anywhere by flaming other music, is that it shows your musical range is very limited. We wouldnt want music that only you and your closest friends like, would we. +, i havent heard of this band, could you post some youtube links, or something to base your ANGRYMAN proposal on.

People generally want to support people who are nice to them :(

To be fair, Deftones does exist in a rhythm game (GH3 DLC)... albeit not that great. I've enjoyed Deftones for many years and would like to see some Around the Fur/Adrenaline/Self-titled action. Although they certainly touch on some nu-metal riffs, I would hardly classify the entire band/catalog as nu-metal.

As much as I am personally a Deftones fan (and I am, more than I'd even care to admit), this is, in every way possible, the WRONG way to go about suggesting a band. When you mention a band here, you're supposed to talk about songs and why they'd be great for the game. Not sit here and squeal like a baby who hasn't had his bottle about how bands in the game suck and why your band is so much better.

Check your attitude if you feel like trying again.
