Aight, so my brothers and I are planning to head to Cruefest for the sole purpose of doing the Rock Band tournament. However, I've got some questions that maybe you guys can answer...

How much does it cost to get into Cruefest?

Will age be an issue when competing/getting in (I'm the youngest of our group at 14 years old)? Will we need ID at all?

Are points the most important thing? Is there a "best" song to choose for lots of points? Does appearance/attitude matter?

What are the scores of other winners (we get roughly 1.2 million points on Dirty Little Secret, is that enough?)

If you win, do you have to play the same song on the big stage that you played during the competition?

Thanks in advance for answering these questions...

Also, is there lag that will affect our playing?

ChibiMolinero,

Hi I'm John. I'm the Mtv Product Specialist attached to Mtv Rockband at Cruefest. I will do my best to answer all your questions.

1. Lawn seats run about $30 a person, house seats tend to go up from there.

2. All contestants need to be at least 13 to compete. If you are under 17, there needs to be a parent of gaurdian there to sign a release for you.

3. Songs that are available for the contest are all similar in length and obtainable points. there will be a list of songs to select from when you arrive. Please don'
t select "Paranoid", we hear it about 20 times a day here at Rockband. J/K Pick any song you want. BTW Judging is 90% raw score and 10% stage rock ability.

4. Scores of other winners are secret and we will not reveal them. Just come and give it your all, rock out and have a ton of fun.

5. You can choose a different song to play on the main stage, the only ones that you can not choose are any the go longer than about 5-6 minutes.

6. I calibrate the systems each time I turn them on when we set up, if there is a lag issue, it lays with the players involved. If I score 99% on Expert, you can too.

Any others questions, just drop a post, or ask me a question, i'l, be online from time to time. Hope to see you at the Mtv Second Stage Experience at Crufest

SandMan79,

I was at the Cruefest at the Whiteriver Amphetheater in Auburn(Seattle)Washington on August 8th. We won the RockBand contest and were able to perform before Crue. It was awesome besides the mic not being turned on for a few moments. But once everything was working it was an experience to remember. Our band name was WFL. We were told pictures taken by your people would be sent to my email within a day. I know you guys are busy as hell, because everyone in your staff never seemed to stop.
We had a good time and it will be an experience my son will not forget. Please reply the guys at work dont believe me.

You may be able to find cheap seats. Here in Dallas they had lawn seats for like $20.00 Not bad. Make sure to hang out and watch the concert. Buck Cherry is pretty good live. Vince Neil sounded like crap. He sounded like he was out of shape. Always trying to catch his breath.
