View Full Version : Guessing the last 3 songs

Alright, using my incredible predicton skills, I am predicting the last 3 songs. first off:

1) Can't Let Go - Death Of The Cool.

Death of the Cool is a band featuring members of Count Zero and Breaking Wheel. This is the only song on their myspace, and it's album is "Rock Band." Now unless a band made of members of a company making Rock Band decided to release an album called Rock Band around the same time the game came out, I'd say that this song is in.

That's really the only one I can say for sure. On to speculation:

Facts:

Queens of the Stone Age initially said that they would put a song in the game from Era Vulgaris. GWTF is from Songs for the Deaf. Whether or not they changed their mind or are having two songs in the game remains to be seen.

Potential songs from EV that would rock(from most rock to least rock): Battery Acid, 3s and 7s (gets docked for being in GH3,) Run Pig RUn (unlikely) Make It Wit Chu, Sick, Sick, Sick.

However, they probably just changed their mind because 3s and 7s is in GH3, and since over 6 songs wound up being shared, they made a change.

Scorehero said that there was one really hard song in the game that they failed everything but bass in. I think that this could be one of two things:

Go Into The Water by Dethklok

It doesn't sound extremely hard on guitar, but I didn't listen very closely, and if it's anything like Thunderhorse, the bass is stupid easy. It also doesn't sound like it uses a double bass, which is always a plus. Not to mention Brendan Small is from Boston, and they said they'd be doing "something special" with the song. I'd give a better chance over my second choice, but they both could be in it.

Panic Attack by Dream Theater

For: One old Rock Blog showed a dry erase board that, among other things, had a crazy face screaming "Panic Attack." The other stuff was game related (a headset with a circle-lin through it, a mic with a check by it, etc) Dream Theater has said that they would be in a game if asked. Dream Theater are renowned instrumentalists, so I decided to check it out. However, I hated it and turned it off within one minute of it playing. The bass didn't sound obscenely hard in that minute, though.

That one guy keeps on saying that Timmy and The Lords of The Underworld is in it. That's so awesome it can't be true.

HMX loves H*R, Everybody to the limit does reference Reykjavik, and fhqwgads would be hard to sing. It could be rerecorded, you forget that Trogdor was originally done on a keyboard.

So, (in order of likelyhood)

Can't Let Go by Death of The Cool
Go Into The Water by Dethklok
Everybody to The Limit by Strong Bad
-cut off-
Panic Attack by Dream Theater
Timmy and The Lords of the Underworld by the band of the same name
3s and 7s (which I expect to see as DLC, since they probably at least made a chart for it.)
All the other QOTSA songs
An Eagles of Death Metal Song (wishful thinking.)

I'd call that about accurate.

Isn't Dethklok sponsored by Gibson or something? I remember seeing that on an episode my friend lent me and thinking that might count them out for Rock Band.

If we are going to get more QOTSA, it will almost certainly be DLC and not a bonus song.

Yes, they are.

I'm already looking forward to Can't Let Go, as, in the absence of an actual Count Zero song, this should whet my appetite for the kind of off-kilter rock that I believe this game needs. That, and the Made in Mexico if the rumor proves true, should make me quite happy.

I do believe that the Dream Theater inference may be a bit labored and opportunistic, though. I'd appreciate a bit of Dream Theater, but I'm skeptical of their inclusion at any point in the immediate future.

This very well could be Jordan all over again.
1 Bonus = Hardest song... or Green grass and high tides.

I'm hoping for more Dethklok and Strong Bad. There's evidence Everybody To The Limit will be there, given the Reykjavik venue that gets mentioned in the full-band CD version of the song... and Dethklok just had a new full album out which no doubt they want to promote.

I have a feeling neither of those are gonna be in the last ones, but... I can dream, can't I?
